IPL gave life line to some players like Jayasurya, S.Watson. They came back in their team basis on their performance in IPL. Some players like P.Ojha, Y.Pathan, S.Marsh, M.Goni got debut in international cricket. IPL was superhit. EPL will provide more opportunities to players. Icc can target minnows by 20-20.
This is an act of desperation and foolishness on the part of the ECB. They can never replicate what the IPL did as India is cricket's commercial power house. The sheer amount of revenue generated by the media from the IPL games was staggering. The ECB are gonna make a fool of themselves and shell billions of pounds on something which is going to flop. Having lived in the UK for 10 years I do know one thing for sure: the English public purists atleast a majority of them. An occasional T20 here and there is fine but a month and half of T20 won't go down in good terms.
