Yet you are not wrong in atleast the first three placements.

There was very little application of mind except by Venkataraghavan.

Were you even born when Bedi & Prasanna were playing test cricket? Have you actually seen them bowl? Obviously not!

You should have seen how these bowlers lured batsmen into getting out. I remember in a series against Australia in 1977-78 when Bedi planned Kim Hughes dismissal. The first 4 balls of the over were meant to be hit - generously flighted, full tosses. Once he got Hughes in an aggressive mood, the 5th ball was a perfect arm ball and as Hughes went back to cut, saw his off stump rattled! We hardly see any of the contemporary spinners setting up wickets so well.

Prasanna's speciality was to lure batsman into an offdrive with a generously flighted ball outside the offstump. As the batsmen went for the drive, he got the ball to turn so sharply that the batsmen would eventually get out caught at short midwicket.

These bowlers are rare gems. Their wicket tally was not as high as Warne or Murali because they did not play so much cricket then.

Don't make such casual comments!

Shut up if you dont know anything about these great bowlers. Prasanna won India a game in NZ in 1976 taking 8 for 76 still the best by Indian spinner overseas. In those days there was no coaching no videos just the natural talent of the bowlers that got them wickets. If you dont have any idea just shut up rather than talk nonsense.

Best form of the game
by Venkatesh V on Jul 17, 2008 11:07 AM  | Hide replies

Lets discuss which form of cricket is the real gem.........Tests/ODI's,T20's.
The perspective should be that brings out the real talent/ability of a player rather than entertainment.
My vote is "Tests"
