i wonder if raina and yuvraj dropped becoz of that, in that case even rohit should have been left out.

Dareell Hair....

He is very good umpire. Everybody knows Murlidharan is a chucker. He was the first umpire who pointed out Murali action. In controversial Eng-Pak test his decision in favour of Eng is right according to the rules. Nobody can affect his decision. He is mentaly very strong. He doesn't think about the people reaction.

Some players are retiring prematurely for playing IPL for money, so hair is not an exception. Everybody wants money for future. Why he will end his own career without money??????

The cricket players are open about their retirement. They dont send furitive mails blackmailing the ICC to payup to coverup.

Hair is controversial and hard headed as an Aussie is.

He ought to been thrown out long time back.

He is good in his umpiring - but he does not befit an umpire.

Much similar to the Austrialian team. They are really highly skilled criketers but they do not form respectable rolemodels any champion performer ought to be.

Cheers.

I still favour in hair.
I agree australian players are not respectable, but don't forget about some indian players like harbhajan, srisanth, yuvraj, uthappa etc.

Haroon Lorgat (ICC Chief) - how childish he is for that pristine post!

From Cricinfo.com - regarding ci-icc/content/current/story/360694.html, what is the origin of Haroon Lorgat (the new ICC chief executive)? Does he have a south asian origin? His comments are childish for the post he holds. Which era does he belong to when Cricinfo reported he says: "My folks always told me to be careful because money is the root of all evil. ..." When would a person holding such a pristine position in one of the leading games in the world understand "Money is *not* *the* root of all evil - rather the emotion of having plenty of money is a root of all evil - Hindu book Gita says too, so does Christian Bible too". The holy books mention that "well managed money" is perfectly fine - rather an essential ingredient - for the mankind growth. Teach Haroon Lorgat that. Forward these comments to him. Include your valuable comments too.

Apart from Steve Bucknow, who's the worst umpire according to you ?
by Dire Straits on Jul 10, 2008 03:57 PM  | Hide replies

I'd say Rudi Koertzen. That man have given horribly wrong decisions, some of which were apparent even to the viewers on first sight. Some of his blunders I remember are giving Sangakarra wrongly out of about 192, giving Gilchrist out LBW for a duck when he actually inside edged the delivery, adjudging Tendulkar not out when he nicked a Stuart Clark delivery when he actually nicked it, the list goes on .........

Timon Taufell is excellent. He too have occasionally given some wrong decisions, but they are very rare. The guy can be really relied to give a good performance (in terms of umpiring) anyday.
