I think everyone might juz think about the series when Aussies told that Shane Warne was the king of bowling.. Sachin gave nightmares in his dreams... Now New boy Mendis, will face the same nightmare... Sachin will be the highest run scorer in the tests.. and what else.. still people tell him he is selfish...
After SA's promotion to 2nd place in ICC's test rankings, India goes to 3rd place albeit just marginally. This is the effect of the results the so-called 'old guards' of indian cricket have produced. On the other hand the neo young brigade, led by the shooter-mouthed M S Dhoni doesn't even match them. Forget about the abject surrender to an amateur "spinner".

Absolutely correct! At 4th rank in ODI's behind Australia, SA, NZ they are now losing to 5th ranked Pakistan and 6th ranked Sri Lanka under the youth policy of Dhoni. Dhoni has perhaps the worst captaincy record in ODI's and completely lacks credibility in a very short period. He will not last even second year unlike Rahul due to his foolish actions.

tri seires in australia won purely on the performance of sachin in both finals. this fellow dhoni feels he is only behind entire success.

Please learn to look at each and everything in its perspective. Your comparison of test ranking and ODI ranking is preposterous. No less a person than the Chairman of Selection Committee, Dilip Vengsarkar, rightly pointed out that the policy of the committee in pushing for youngsters in ODI format has paid rich dividends in so far as India has moved from 7th place to 2nd place in ICC rankings (of course SA and NZ have gone up now, pushing India to 4th slot).
From another perspective, India should be in second slot in test rankings with much higher points, but has failed to achieve that thanks to the conservative, self-defeatist, defensive policies of Rahul Dravid in the period that he captained the test team.
West Indies were at their lowest morale ever when India visited them, but Dravid just managed to score a 1-0 win in a 4 test series. England came to India without Vaughan, Harmison, Jones, Trescothik etc. but the team of old guards struggled to beat them in home conditions. On the contrary, Jayawardene's men went to England in 2006 and thrashed them mercilessly.
India could have done a lot better in the home ODI series against Australia last year, but flopped once again due to the so called old guard.
By all this, I mean no disrespect to the old guard. They belong to one era, youngsters to another. Let us not compare. Let us just sit back, relax and enjoy the game.

Perhaps some people expect a six or a four to be hit in every ball in test cricket and in ODIs (like in T-20). If they don't like test cricket (and prefer only T-20), they can surely ignore tests and live only in their world of Yusuf Pathans, Swapnil Asnodkars, David Husseys, etc. Such people are free to stay away from the Tendulkars, Pontings, Dravids, Mike Husseys, Laxmans, Haydens, Gangulys, Younus Khans, Kallises, Yousufs, etc.

I fully agree with you. Test cricket is a class apart and has been time and again been called the true form of the game. Even successful cricketers of the shorter versions have expressed their desire to play the longer version as it IS the ultimate test for a cricketer.

but not the way dravids current batting style. 10 runs from 150 balls. he is playing foir draw he dosent want result of the game. test matches are played for result now a days.
Mendes is a Freak bowler against whom all our young ODI players were clueless. Waiting to see our seniors like Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Ganguly play him. I feel Tendulkar and Laxman who are both great players of spin will master the Freak.

you are partailliy correct. Mendis is not a freak bowler. He can bowl at his will and he has lots of variations. Our young guns were cluless of what he was doing, especially becos of lack of correct technique. out stalwarts will play him well not becos he is freak bowler but beocs of sound technique ahd tons of expirence behind them
