Just keeping a bunch of flowers on the table does not make sense, it proves its beauty when you arrange and place them properly in an appropriate location. Thus only having players of high quality and using them abruptly will not serve the purpose for Indian cricket. It would wiser to manage them properly and on proper occasions. If any player plays well for a match should not necessarily mean that he is deemed to do so in every match. Therefore when you have picked quite a lot of seniors as well as juniors put the appropriate man on an appropriate match but the mission should be made crystal clear to him.No matter if he happens to be a Tendulkar or a Ojha. Playing for the nation comes ahead of any individuals stature.
"Rohit Sharma. The 21-year-old struggled in the last two ODI series (Bangladesh tri-series and Asia Cup), scoring just one half-century in nine innings, but showed enough promise to be worthy of a place in the Test side." "Ganguly hit two half-centuries in his last two Tests, against South Africa, but an inconsistent run before that will not make it easy for him." "Munaf Patel [Images] is also another player on the comeback trail. He played a stellar role in Rajasthan Royals' [Images] victory in the IPL." "With seniors like Tendulkar and Laxman in the side and willing up to take up responsibilities it would have made more sense to give them the role."

I think i will made one change in Indian Team for Sri Lanka tour, Rohit Sharma is not have much experience and also he is not in good touchso better to pick Mohammed Kaif,in his place i think Mohammed Kaif is better choice then Rohit Sharma, Kaif is a very authletic filder and also good batsman. what u say dude
Talking of the seniors, Ganguly will again not only need to prove his worth in the side but also his fitness. He hit two half-centuries in his last two Tests, against South Africa, but an inconsistent run before that will not make it easy for him. But, like all the other Indian batsmen, he will be looking forward to feasting on the batting beauties you mostly encounter in Sri Lanka: what does the author mean by this? does he watch test cricket at all? the series prior to that was against australia where he was the second highest run getter, next against pakstan and saurav scored a double hundred and a hundred.and the one before was against england where again he was the second highest run scorer. Please bother watching the scores before commenting

Second highest run getter in the Australian Test series ? He average a pathetic 29 in that Test series. Laxman was the 2nd highest run getter for India. Tendulkar was the overall highest run getter among both teams in the tournament.

Dire Straits, reading your comments which you posted in the last few days, its quite clear you have a prejudice against saurav ganguly. How about being objective for a change? Ganguly was the highest scorer and man of the series against pakistan. Against australia, he failed in the last two tests. Against south africa, he played a crucial hand of 87 in the last test at kanpur on a bad track where everyone struggled. Guess you are conviniently oblivious to all those statistics.

When did I disregard those facts ? I simply stated the fact that Ganguly averaged 29 in The Australian Test series. If facts hurt you, deal with it !!

Sreenath,
Well pointed out. Why does Sourav need to prove his form and fitness..? Sourav had a excellent series against Pakisthan, average series against Australia and very good series against South Africa. Then how is this inconsistent run..?
If at all anyone who needs to prove his form and fitness, is none other than Tendulkar ( (since he was out with injury)
Like the BCCI and Selectors,Harish Kotian is also biased. They cannot touch Tendulkar, hence they feast on Ganguly, which is sad.
The message is clear, when you are in the team, you have got to play for the team. Stop projecting your image as a star. Enough of that. Lets also hope that Sehwag and Gautti kutti can form a cracking partnership in tests as well. Lets make test matches interesting

The tests in Kandy and Galle will be patronised well as this is the only form of international cricket taking place in those venues for quite some time. ODI's are limited to Colombo and Dambulla, still the test match at SSC grounds will attract more crowds than Karachi or Dhaka. SriLanka may be tempted to go for under-prepared tracks and throw in Murali,Mendis and Ranga Herath. In that case, our batting galacticos will have their hands full.Perform or perish may be the ottom line.
