DHONI IN TESTS!!!
by argha bhar on Jul 10, 2008 04:53 PM

Lets be honest as Indian fans. Dhoni's performance is way below par as compared to the ODI's and T20's. I must say he is a bit over-rated in Tests. No doubt, he has hitting calibre, but I dont think he has enough temperament and ability to survive in test cricket which is, and will remain as the pinnacle form of cricket. T20 is meant for entertainment purpose only. Dhoni needs to improve his batting in tests else there are many more talented wicket-keeper batsmen in India.

Avoiding seniors??
by Nikhil Deshmukh on Jul 09, 2008 05:12 PM  | Hide replies

It seems that Dhoni doesn't want to play as 2nd-in-command with seniors. Its a open secret that dhoni hates seniors. He always want to lead in his own way without caring for seniors. but this is test cricket not instant cricket.

Its all about Money!!!!

Why did Dhoni not say anything about IPL or decided to sit out of IPL for taking a rest?

Because, he was being paid 7 crores to play in IPL. Playing in Srilanka or not playing in Sri lanka will not matter much as he has made the money in IPL and secondly he has an annual contract with BCCI, which pays him money even if he does not play all year round!

Third and not the least, Sri Lanka seems to be playing on the minds on the players after the humiliating defeat in the finals. I only hope this has had no role in Dhoni's decision...

you are right!
why he didnt take rest for IPL which is not representing the COUNTRY. And stupid niranjan shah will shake his head for this guy for a while, then he will screw him back.
Dhoni is scared about his test performance, he doesnt want his skills to be spoiled in Test career. And also he doesnt like to participate with senior players, which is openly true....
Screw him...I hate yuvraj singh, never played a responsible innings to keep the team alive. its my opinion.
Gambir is excellent player but he needs to be in control by selectors without giving too much freedom
Shewag can not change his game, only hitting - thats it - he is not a true cricketer.
Rohit Sharma - he can play some strokes - same as gambir - needs to put him under control and let him get experience..
Raina - same thing...
ALL THESE PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN MORE CHARACTERS FROM SENIOR PLAYERS

Loosing money...!!! Are you joking...!

If he has made crores of rupees from IP and brand endorsements, will he care for a couple of lakh rupees for Srilanka tour? Come on... be logical...

burn-outs???? does it matter...

the problem is with the cricket starved 1 billion people and ever rich BCCI's greed which has taken the shape of an inhuman treatment to players...for anyone thinking it as an excuse from dhoni, please refer the stats and u'll know that number of matches played by any non-indian international cricketer is nowhere near those played by an indian....cricket is a religeon of 1 billion and business venture for BCCI...these things(burn-outs) become trivial then...

Dhoni is tired...!!!???
I can't buy this opinion.
If it had been IPL tournamnet, would Dhoni do the same thing? (Any guesses...?)
Are these players giving preference to teh club over country?

The same was done by Tendulkar. If he knew that he was not fit to play in IPL, why did he play there? Immediately after IPL, he asked for rest...! Does he not care for this country? Could he not have pulled out of IPL and be fit for the series after that?

Also, these cricketers are not worth for what they are being paid. They have no talent at all.
If experts say that "Watch the ball till as late as possible", then how come did these people failed against Mendes? I guess, the fact is that all these batsmen are only able to play well if they are able to anticipate the trajectory of the delivery. They never keep an eye on the ball. If the ball does not follow their anticipated trajectory, these guys will fail. That's what we saw in the final.

I am really upset with all these things.

All the indian batsman perform until they get good/sound money otherwise they can't even play on the flat/dead pitches! Shame on Team india!

Relax man! we might unearth another Dhoni aur maybe Gauti kutii come good. After all Dhoni is loosing money for not playing in Sri Lnka. I think he might have pulled out of Asian Cup like Sachu but could nt as he is the captain. But now he can as he is not leading the side.
Great team player.

Dhoni is tired, I accept. But the main thing behind his decision is that he wants to see how will the seniors perform against the new comer Mendis.

First they will drop ALL THE SENIOR PLAYERS at ONE Go.

Then they will drop ALL THE YOUNG PLAYERS in ONE Go.

No process of gradual phasing out and gradual induction.

The Young Rohit Sharma is in only because he IS FROM BOMBAY
