Hats off to the judiciary.

Where did the tribunal fail?
by Ramesh Kapoor on Jul 04, 2008 09:53 PM  | Hide replies

I have tried to find out the reason why the HC lifted the suspension on Shoaib Akhtar. Was it in law, or did the PCB disciplinary committee failed in following up with the procedures when pronouncing its judgement and banning Shoaib, first for 5 years, and later reducing the same to 18 months. There is a lot to be said on the demeanour of Shoaib and his notoriety.

The penalty of 5-year ban was out of proportion to the offense which would shock ayone's sense of fairness and conscious. It would have killed his cricketing career and only means of livelihood for good.

shoaib is once again going to get scot free. just like 2 year ban for taking banned drugs, he is also going to b exonerated from all the charges and vl b allowed to play very soon.
this 5 year ban was all the drama.

Over 37 years age - No cricket please
by Gulabjamun Bhujiya on Jul 04, 2008 08:12 PM

Somebody should first ban all cricketers in the world who are above say 37 years of age (assuming that even if a player starts representing his country at a late age of 27 and goes on to serve for 10 years(offcourse if they start early at say 20 or 22 they can serve 15 to 17 years). If oldies go on playing in their respective country teams how will youngsters get a chance ? How will we see good fast cricket where batsmen simply dont bat and then go off to dressing room because they are not fit to field or run later due to old age People above 37 years should be in Veterans team I feel for cricket to really look amazing.

Wow finally Shoaib is free to build his body. He is more of a body builder these days than a cricketer. He is good for acting in movies. Has a nice smile too. Leave the cricket to people with lean muscle. People with biceps and triceps cant play cricket. Its a fact.

I agree about the ICL players - but lifting the ban on Azhar now will not serve any purpose - He is already 45 years old!! :)

forgive Azharuddin
by iq on Jul 04, 2008 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

Only in India the BCCI wants to show that they follow the law when 99.99% of the time they act above the law. Why don't we forgive Azhar, Manoj Prabhahar? They are humans... If we believe in forgiving then we are started to live like a human. When all the politicians corrupt when don't we just forgive these guys... But we rather forget what the as s whole politicians do on every day basis, such as rape, murder and corruption but we have no hearts to forgive these cricketers... what a shame!!

Nothing happened to him man. Nobody punished or did anything to him. He is enjoying life enjoying Hyderabadi Biryani, imported watches, nice cars and good life with all the money he earned. What forgiving and all. He has been forgiven long back. He is a blessed person.
