what is he in the team for? or i will put it in other way what is dhoni known for? he is known for his hard hitting thats it. Now from the time he has become captain, he has forgot to hit the ball hard and the worst part is that he cannot steal and score singles!!! So after long long time he is able to bat a bit, what great has he done? isn't he in team for doing that?

Complex, Dhoni has a specific role to play and that is sheperding the team during 20-40 overs stage! He could as well come 1 down and play the way he played when he scored that 148 and 183! Hes sacrificing his position for the team's benefit!

Dhoni was 3rd highest run scorer in VB series in Australia, he's done well even in IPL, Asia Cup and the tri series in Bangladesh! Wat else shud he do, start bowling and keepin at the same time??

To whom are you targetting your special effort remarks? Some mediocre scibble smthing and you woke up with crusade!
The best thing to happen for Indian ODI cricket was removal of Dravid and Ganguly. I was waiting for this to happen for past 10 years. So many matches we have lost because of these two batting slowly making 50 in 75 balls and 100 in 120 balls if ever they made. If India was able to chase 300 runs successfully (two times now)in this tournamnet it is thanks to the absence of these two tortoises who put undue pressure on other batsmen because they themselves couldnt score quick runs. So many times Tendulkar gave India a good start and these two brought the run rate down.
Also, all those who heaped abuses on Greg Chappell should now see the results.It was Greg Chappel who introduced and posed faith in Gatuam Gambhir and Suresh Raina into the Indian team and also Sehwag. These three failed but he saw the talent in them. He knew these players can score run a ball and its the matter of time they came into groove.Time has proved that he was right.
I wished he could show the door to other parasite named the 'Wall' but it was too much for him as the Wall became the captain and everyone was already after Chappel's blood. Interstingly only foolish Indians celebrated the Wall's achievement.I played street cricket and we delibrately not try to get slower players from the opposition team out if we had a good score. I am sure many teams have done the same against India. If the reqd run rate is 7 or above why get Dravid out and invite Yuvraj or Dhoni to the crease?

Good. But the chase and method for that all changed with the arrival of T 20.
Earlier had there been a score above 250, then the instruction would be to cautious. Had to stop middle order collapse. So considered keeping wickets in tact the best and go for big at last. But that failed for India for they lacked sloggers in the end.
But now everyone start slog from 1st ball. Not Dravid or Ganguly far below new comers, the change come rather slowly.
Everything changed. We are moving fast.
They too would have changed. They are class and elite.

teams winning toss are opting batting first and were easily chased out. this happend to india against pak and for SL against India. on a pitch good for batting, let us hope on sunday if india win the toss, they will field first

1. We have not bowled out any team while bowling first ! And bowled out only Bangladesh bowling second ! 2. Shouldn't there be more thoughts put in, in terms of the composition of our bowlers in the playing eleven, stratgies and field placements ? 3. If flat pitches are to be blamed, they are there and we know it and are used to it - so should not there be a better plan in containment with better stratgies in bowling and fielding plans ? 4. Does our team / coach have enough inputs of our rival team's strengths / weaknesses, particularly Srilanka now so that field placements are deployed to capitalize on their weaknesses or contain their strengths ? 5. We have been lucky with out batting flourishing in friendly conditions, but remember the pitches are wearing out with constant use !!!!

1. bowled out only hongkong. 2/3. yes 2 spinners and 3 seamer. 4.coach kirsten not bothered. coach venky is on holiday. 5. lets hope bowlers return to form.

I bet, Answer is NONE...It has to be team work, Its not the Lone member performance, but the contribution from all members which can eventually win a WC.
