Miss Tait
by on Feb 01, 2008 11:45 AM

We are so sorry about Shuan Tait (hope I have got the spelling right). Fast bowlers are always a joy to watch. Till the time I saw Shane and Warne (I did not have a chance to see our own spin wizards) I used to find spin bowling boring (I am sorry for that). And I like the look and feel of cricket when we see Brett, Shoaib, Ishant, Bond and Tait operate. There should be somebody in the Australian cricket fraternity who could encourage and bring Tait back. History shows that the Australian team are quick to assess capabilities and do not back the wrong horses. But here they missed by not backing Tait. Lee could always do with support on the other end. Think of Brett Lee and Shuan Tait bowling from both the ends in full flow! Let us wish the best to the game of cricket.

although I am a big supporter of his, I too have the same feeling as yours. but let us give him a chance and see how he fares. he is not getting younger anyhow.... this could be his first and last 20-20 match. let him not retire thinking he could not play in a single 20-20 match!

Fyi Sachin have played a 20-20 match before in South Africa in 2006 under the captaicy of shewag. So this is not his first match.Sercondny he is playing because yuvraj is not fit and we need a experinced player in the team.
Thirdly fyi still sachin enjoys the best strike rate after shewag in the team.

So i am sure he wont be a bore.He is too great a batsman to bore us.

well... we all saw that the entire team collapsed like a heap of cards. so all were bore. Sachin is the greatest, not great. but compare him with what he himself was about 5-7 years back.

True...he still is the best..I liked India losing so comprehensively today..Let Dhoni come down to earth and understand the importance of seniors. He is an over hyped guy and won T20 just because of sheer luck..He is not as good of 10% of Sachin or 1/4th of what Sourav, Dravid or Laxman. Hope that India will lose Triseries also like this so that Dhoni and Vengsarkar will learn something. Vengsarkar have told the importance of youth and was telling that they are looking to build a bunch of guys for the next world cup 4 years away. We have seen this earlier also of the tactics of coach and selectors picking teams in sight of world cup 2007 and we all know how we finally fared :) Think of present or atleast in the immediate future rathar than being so far sighted. Or else, i think they may start selecting 8 or 10 year old guys for 2025 world cup also..

T-20
by arun premraj on Jan 31, 2008 09:04 PM

we are a good test team.. as good as australia.. but we still have a long way to go in ODIs... esp against/in australia... and even in 03/04 after a gr8 test series we were badly beaten in the ODI series...
Anyways.. i hope out T-20 record against australia stays intact.... touch wood..

WALK THE TALK
by vaibhav kumar on Jan 31, 2008 06:02 PM

AFTER SETTING REASONABLE AND APPRECIABLE PERFORMANCE IN TEST MATCHES, INDIAN YOUNG TEAM SHOULD NOT FALTER AND OUTPLAYED IN ODIs. IT WILL BE A HUGE DISAPPPOINTMENT.

HOPE THEY WILL CONTINUE THE MOMENTUS. DEPENDS HOW QUICKLY THE CORE OF TEAM ADJUSTS TO THE CHALLENGE.

hi bhupesh, it seems winning t20 is more important for you than test matches. It requires a certain amount of skill and temperament to play test cricket and i think the oldies have it and proved it as well. good luck for the t20!!!!

in t20 its yuvraj who rescued india everytime.and yuvraj is not a youngster. He is definitely a senior. That proves that we need youngsters but its the experince which would win you matches.
