SA on backfoot
by ninja purple on Jan 31, 2008 03:00 PM  | Hide replies

SA's chances of winning are now down by more than 50% ! just as ind lost 1st test against aus in melbourne coz of their only practice game being rained off, SA too will struggle in heat & humidity of chennai, particularly due to no prior warm up. by the time they adapt, ind will have won the series !

Indians complained that the number of warm-up games are less when they toured australia. But now when SAF comes to India, no warm-up game. I think BCCI is really stupid. They should stop talking.

pathetic scheduling by BCCI
by on on Jan 31, 2008 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

i don't know why only operates in a world of its own. It dosen't have a website, even Bangladesh board has one. Why is it not scheduling oneday series along with the test series against South Africa? Any bilateral series should have test series along with oneday series and a couple of 20-20 games. This is the norm but somehow BCCI always manages to break the norm.

Sandy, Please calm down. I am nobody to measure anybody's talents. And if that is the case, who are discussing in these columns are not competitive enough to tell about any of these Cricket Players. Are we all Cricket Players of any State team. No. i am telling only my opinion , in the right spirit. Yes, he has scored good tons for India, and I am surprised that he is not able to pull of a match winning Century, when India needs one such, on the verge of failure. When he has scored like that on, in the recent two years or so? in second innings he hasn't scored any major, not 50 runs more often. i am a rehular follower of Indian cricket game, and many of the readers in this column will agree with me. Please analyse nad make contradictions of the views expressed.
I am betting to you that if he scores such a godd matchwinning innings, in SA tour, i will give Party to you at your choice of location. Are you ready for reciprocating?

Sachin has a career average of 42 in 2nd innings, which is not that bad, when compared to any other player in the Indian team. His 2nd innings performance has come down in the past 3 years only.
And if you are by any chance in Bangalore, let's have the party bet.

Sachin, Please don't Score Century in First Innings.
by aji george on Jan 31, 2008 11:17 AM  | Hide replies

If Sachin don't score century in First innings, and if he can score matchwinning innings when Team India is in bad situations, like in Second Innings cases, India will win Test Series atleast in 2-1 fashion. But on the Contrary, If Sehwag , VVS.Lakshman or Jaffer(if he is in) or Ganguly scores decent scores in First innings, India will win HANDS DOWN. I am telling this not in a regional biased feelings.
Ishant, Zaheer, R.P & Sreeshant as formidable bowling lineup in Indian Pitches alongwith Kumble , Pathan & Harbhajan as temporary critical situation allrounders , India looks as a formidable side.

shame on you!!
what kind of reservation you have against sachin?
he has scored tons of runs in austrelia. And he is one of the best reasons for India's good performance.
Anyways I think he need not to explain his superiority to you.

u think all scores made in first innings are useless? what if sachin and dravid had not had a good stand like they did in perth in first innings? what if sachin had not made 150 plus in adelaide when india were down at 156 for 4 on first day? please learn to analyse cricker first before talking about it.
