It is pure, unadulterated politics. Contract should be given based on skill, present form and not based on fitness. If Shoaib is fit and if he takes wickets then will he be considered.
He is already having enough problems. It is better to talk to him one on one and sort out the issues. He is after all a senior player. How will his team mates respect him when he is treated shabbily. I agree that he has got a darker side and he had hit Mohammed Asif. I think the PCB should reconsider this decision.

hahaha..a contract is based on what a player can give back. So it involves talent, form, fitness, attitude, how well he can integrate with the other players in the team etc.
PCB cant keep giving lakhs of rupees to Akhtar for his 10 overs per inning in test matches as he bowled in India.
