India is equal to 10 cricketing nations.
by viswanatha seshadri on Jan 25, 2008 10:41 AM

If Ireland, Srilanka and Bangladesh can be considered as member-nations playing cricket, India itself is equivalent to ten such nations. In fact, a team from Bombay or Delhi or Bangalore could beat the world cup champion team, bec of talents available and high-cohesion team-spirits such teams can generate. There have been years when the srilankan team which defeated the 'indian' team, got defeated by a Tamilnadu team. In the absence of unifier captains like Dhoni or Kumbley, or with some divisive coaches, the 'indian' teams tend to lose cohesion, the marathas and bengalis on opposite camps, as also the northerners and madraasis. India should be given some extra respect in the ICC on these counts.

Let the Pale faces get lost.Let the brown skins have our own ICC or whatever you call it and have our own world cups. The whites think even now they are some superior race. What Gavaskar said was the truth.A white's word was better than a brown's.If Harbhajan's ban is not called off then it would be better India get out of this ICC.Then we can see the white,s plight. They wont have money even to conduct ten over matches.

Gavaskar issue
by Aftab on Jan 25, 2008 09:11 AM  | Hide replies

If calling a spade a spade is a crime then Sunil Gavaskar is a culprit.

We had enough of trash from the europeans, American and Australians in past. They had treated us with disrespect a number of times and we had a practice of ignoring the insults hurled on us.

From Indian side there is one change, we have stopped accepting insult and have started paying back to them in their own coin.

Gavaskar, the legend is as respected Indian figure as Bradman for Australians. He is a cool man and does not open his mouth like ponting and their collegues and therefore if Gavaskar has said something then it has to be a true.

well said aftab. One of the tactics of australian cricket player is they can do anything and everything that act will never come to picture whereas if anybody else done means finished that is what happened to Gavaskar.

What Pointing did was right?????
by vishwas joshi on Jan 25, 2008 09:04 AM

In which form of games does the umpire ask decision to be confirmed from players????
ICC or the match refree dont have any problem with that???? They dont want to file case against Pointing?????
Why match refrees are there - just to slam some bans and collect the money which they are paid for every match????
If both the umpires are wrong - why the match refree dont gets involved immediately and give a fair decision. Rather than looking for imposing ban on some people; change some rules of the game and give much power to match refree.

STUPID ICC
by on Jan 25, 2008 08:49 AM

Most of the nincompoops abministrating the ICC are just looking for a scapegoat. They have never shown any desire to improve their conduct of the game. This idiocy on their part was seen in the foolish manner in which they conducted the world cup, their silence on the Harbhajan episode, inconsistency on the part of the match refree in arriving at a decision as in the case of Latif and Ponting etc is a pointer to it. Also curious was the fact that despite his numersous debatable decisions against India, Bucknor was officiating in matches featuring India. If ICC fools now want to shoot itself in the foot, there is nothing that can be done now. Stupid, idiotic, ICC officials.

Gavaskar right on this one
by deepak on Jan 25, 2008 08:07 AM  | Hide replies

Usually hes not right, but Gavaskar is correct on this one. Mike Proctor carries his South African apartheid complexes and made a scapegoat out of Harbhajan. The cry baby Symonds is another whiner, a huge guy but a miserable whiner. Goes crying to the umpire on silly matters.

ICC shaken
by suresh keval on Jan 25, 2008 07:40 AM

Its clear ICC wants to take their anger on some Indian. ICC is currently shook by its roots and they are desperately trying to save their face. But it is sad that they are grossly missing the point.
