Media and Cricket
by on Jan 24, 2008 12:06 AM

I am not sure why we are fighting over players. As fellow countrymen, we should support our players whoever be it.Selectors are humans too and they make mistakes sometimes. They cannot please everyone always. Please dont get me wrong..I am not supporting the selectors.Whatever team is selected, everyone is goinf to have some opinion. If we are true countrymen, be whatever the team be, we should support our team.

And hats off to the media for making every thing so sensational. The same media will lavish praises on everyone and say kudos to the selectors, if we win the series tomorrow.Media wants to create sensation like this to get good ratings.

Anyways all said and done, i feel we should support the team whatver the team is.

Its a great offer
by Ch Mahender Reddy on Jan 23, 2008 06:14 PM  | Hide replies

Its really a great offer for Sachin to work for the social cause in the international platform. Although cricket is not so popular in all the countries, it will now give an introduction to the sport as well as exposes the growing popularity of Indians internationally....

One should have enough brain to understand it. Cricket is unique game which edpends on lot variable varies from pitch, weather, side screen, color of ball , size of bat and many more. No other game in world having so many variable.

Well said, it's 1 game where you need to have cricketing talent as well as brains to execute different tactics. It definitely cannot be called unintelligent. About idle, how about saying it's a game for royal people? People who care about some spice and excitement in life rather than just working like donkeys (or Priyadarshan)

he is truly a cricketing genuis and if u r talking about his batting talent then none can parellel for years to come in world cricket (leave india)probably u must not have watched few matches of his where he bowled india to victory, looking at runs he made in recent past in all forms of cricket i think there is lot our youngster can learn and india team requires his services for some more years
let us not comment on greats,if u do not like plz stop sulking and be proud of we having cricketers like sachin

I don't understand why people who have rarely, if ever, held a cricket bat comment on the game and some of its best batsmen. For cheap publicity, i presume. Sachin is one of the few batsmen who has actually contributed to a team's victory in all possible ways. For verifying this info, check on any cricket stats site.

Dhoni -Scape goat
by on Jan 23, 2008 05:53 PM

Indian selectors as rightly pointed out by Mohinder sometime back are some times brilliant also. They have already decided to dump Dhoni, first he was made captain , now he will play with an inexperienced team and fail . Dhoni will lose his gloves to Partiv and captaincy to Yuvraj. We never had a long term plan.selector talk about long term only when they decide to dump.Sunil,Kapil,Mohinder, the very same chairman of selection committee venksarkar,Krish had seen the worst in their last played year.after that we have seen bad treatment for Ajay,Virendar,Laxman,Saurav Mohamed.i only pray that this shud not happen to Sachin.Nij

Ganguly is the most successful....
by kiran kumar on Jan 23, 2008 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

Ganguly is The only indian captain afetr kapilwho has taken India to the final.... His captaincy was excellent.... Ofcourse India has failed in Many Finals including World Cup. But he is not the reason for that. Everybody failed. Even if he is th e only person failed, Then why India could not win the final Matches?

Ganguly is good, He is the Only person who encouraged Up coming cricketers like Bhajji.. This message is exclusively for the Idiots who hate Ganguly...

Ganguly Rocks....

What a one sided argument you are presenting...Ganguly is responsible for all the wins but he is not responsible for the failures. So he is the best captain.

Here is a record for you. In the last 20 years only two captains have lost a series in India - Sachin and Ganguly!

Now tell me if you still want Ganguly as your captain?
