Dhoni and Yuvraj
by sameer shaikh on Jan 21, 2008 11:11 PM | Hide replies

Mathew Hayden is 36 and he is the pillar of Aussie batting. He was the difference in Perth match. If he has played there, he could have scored a century which could have made a difference. Did Australian sacked Hayden then? Performance should be the criteria.

1) How many times, you want to try out taklu sehwag?
2) Dinesh Karthik, a one day batsman? Can he hot a ball hard?
3) Dhobi Dhoni is a big failure on fast pitches. He and Yuvraj were struggling? Is performance the criteria for their selection?
4) Ganguly is better one day batsman than test. He has around 12,000 runs in ODI compare to 7,000 runs in Test cricket. Why drop him? Why the same old player theory does not apply for Tendulkar
5)Robin Uthupa struggled in just concluded domestic series and you leave player like badrinath.

Answer to all these question is that, Dhoni took ative part in selection meeting held through teleconference meeting. He is insecure of seniors. He himself admitted in 20-20 world cup that it is best dressing room environment we had.. pointing on seniors. He know, he will be kicked out because of his poor performance consistently. when dhoni scored his last hundred? The biggest criminal- Sharad Pawar. BCCI made a habbit of taking wrong steps. Pawar should intervene here and kicked these beggers in BCCI or he quits better

Ganguly removal
by tamil troublers on Jan 21, 2008 10:57 PM

I am so dissapointed with BCCI. I felt crying when they announced the team. It was always seen that, one man who always stood between Australia and victory was VVS Lasxman. How can you drop a players like that against Oz? He is one of the best slip fielders after Azhar. Ganguly is worst fielder? Bullshit? He can compensate that with his bowling, as he is a partnership breaker. Ganguly made a fairytale comeback. More than cricket, a normal man was inspired by his comeback and related his fighting comeback to his own life. Byt removing his, you are demolarasing or demotivating normal man's life

This Nirjanjan Shah (Nachoda) does not have sense or manners to talk in media and they are ruling BCCI. And the biggest culpreit and criminal here.. Sharad Pawar, the politicial.. Unless he leaves BCCI, the political game will be active and there would be no transparancy

Think about the 4th test
by Vaish vinjam on Jan 21, 2008 08:40 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid has a life when he played at No 3 spot and improved afterwards. Lakshman has a positive approach so let him play at No 3 spot and let Dravid open along with Sehwag and let him take his own time to settle. Jaffar has to be dropped no question of winning combination. His presence in the team looks like playing with 10 players. No one might have been given so many chances,if lakshman failed they would have dropped him, which we have seen often.

I think Lakshman plays with positive approach and confidence than Dravid at present so i think VVS can play with more aggression than Dravid. He had a life in the 1st innings and in the 2nd innings he played tentatively. In the series VVS,Ganguly and Pathan played with positive approach and confidence.

I can't but wonder how could you spot Dravid playing tentatively in 2nd innings when he faced just 4 balls and was out on the 5th ball. Ganguly, I feel, was totally out of sorts in Perth. VVS, Ganguly and Pathan played with positive approach?? hmmm.... some food for thought I say! Get a life dude. Go and educate yourself by speaking to an Australian about Sachin's innings in Sydney as well as in Perth.

Ganguly should also be given a chance in bowling,if i remeber correct he bowled in sydney,he can break partnership.Kumble bowls even while he was hit by the batsmen for 17 or 14 runs in an over.

This is the perfect team in the same batting order. There is batting till No.10. Remember RP singh hit a great six off Symonds and great boundaries off Tait.

Let us discuss Adelaid Test
by Emperor Ashoka on Jan 21, 2008 04:39 PM  | Hide replies

So much heat and dust has been raised in discussing team selection for ODIs and T20 matches.

Let us now start discussion on the fourth and last test coming up at Adelaide from 24th (Thursday). If India can win this test, they can square the series which will be a very creditable performance.

In fact one expert said, of course, tongue-in-cheek, that if that happens, BCCI can approach ICC to annul the Sydney test, so that the series would have been won by India 2-1!

These frolics apart, seriously, my playing XI for the Adelaide Test will be:

01. Sehwag
02. Ganguly
03. Laxman
04. Tendulkar
05. Dravid
06. Dhoni
07. Pathan
08. Kumble
09. Harbhajan
10. R P Singh
11. Ishant Sharma

Ganguly has been opener in ODIs. If he will succeed at Adelaide, he can make the selectors' face small. If he fails, selectors can justify his exclusion.

Laxman has a more positive approach than Dravid and played very well at Sydney to score a 100 in the first innings, batting at No.3. So he should come ahead of Dravid.

Yuvraj has been hopelessly out of focus on the game and is said to be unfit also for the test.

The team will have 3 regular pacers and two regular spinners, with part time bowlers in Ganguly, Sehwag and Tendulkar. No captain can ask for more.

With Pathan and Kumble (both have a test 100) coming in at 7 and 8, one cannot ask for more depth in batting.

Will Kumble go for the kill? He said so to TV after Perth Test! Let's see!

This Team is absolutely correct. If this is the Team Selected, They will make Irfan Pathan or Rahul Dravid Open.
I doubt Ganguly will open.

no need...4 bowlers means each on an average can pick 2.5 wickets in an innings..am sure this is our average wicket taking ability of our bowlers in one innings

AK47 (AnilKumble) - 5
RP - 4
Ishant - 2
Pathan - 3

wats the need of a fifth bowler..

If Rahul was the captain he will not go with this team because he will need extra batsman.
With Anil as captain, who is more aggressive, i'm sure this would be the team because he knows the importance of Bhajji. Irfan is a Boon to the Indian Team and they should utilise his talent to the fullest.

Bhajji scored well in Sydney test and He can also bowl. So mate Dinesh Karthik is taken on this tour only as a substitute to Dhoni.

India has won in Perth without Harbhajan. Sehwag has bowled better than Harbhajan. We have better spinners like Piyush Chawla & Kumble for support.
Harbhajan can sit out & India can retain the same squad.

I agree. We shd go with the same winning combination. Sehwag, Tendulkar could add up to Kumble in the spin dept., and Pathan shd stay for his extraordinary swing bowling and batting
