Aussies rightly got back Hayden. But he may not be enough now, they would need Bucknor to win, who can shamelessly gone deaf and some times turns blind
the Aussies for sure were missing Hayden but more so the umpire STEVE BUCKNOR but for whom the series would have been still open.It is time PONTING & co. play in the spirit of the game . it is certain the Indians will keep up the intensity of PERTH and that even the Adelaide Test will be keenly fought.
It was high time that India needed to concentrate on youngsters looking beyond the performance of seniors & looking into the future of Indian cricket team.
To support youngsters is a good move particularly considering that they have won a T20 world cup to India. It would be unfair to young cricketers if they dont get a chance even after there splendid performance in domestic cricket.
Its the right time to groom them with Sachin in the team and playing againest Australia n Srilanka ( champions and runners up of 2007 ODI world cup ) in Australia, which would give them an exposure and experience of hard cricket.
Starting of the new calender year( 2008) was an opt time to take this decision which selectors have taken it which is a good thinking and a bold decision.
phil and chris (who played well in that 3 day match) dint do particularly well. in fact chris had that low 1st innings score so heavily in his mind that he was desperate to get his first run. he was scared. thats being mortal, and not the arrogant aussie we are so used to.
