So what does his (Procter's) earlier doings MEAN. If that is not racist. Who the hell is John Reid and Barry Richards, were where they when Rashid Latif got fired.
Gavaskar should also add that this is HEIGHT OF STUPIDITY. All these characters should be placed in a circus
WITHOUT ANY COMPLAINT BY UMPIRES AND ANY OPPOSING PLAYERS, PROCTER FOUND RASHID LATIF GUILTY OF CHEATING AND BANNED HIM FOR 5 MATCHES. THEN, WHAT ABOUT CLARKE WHO KNEW HE CLAIMED A BUM CATCH AND STILL APPEALED FOR THE WICKET. THIS WAS REPEATEDLY SHOWN ON TV REPLAYS. WHY DOES PROCTER NOT FIND IT NECCESSARY TO GIVE THE SAME PUNISHMENT TO CLARKE THAT HE GAVE TO LATIF? IS IT BECAUSE CLARKE IS WHITE AND THE OPPONENT IS BROWN? WHILE POOR LATIF WAS BROWN AND THE OPPONENT WAS WHITE OR HONORARY WHITE. Why do you need match referees like PROCTER and other discriminatory likes? It would have done Benson great credit if he recalled the batsman once he realized he made an error- like he has done once before and earned evrybody's respect earlier. It is not only Bucknor at the age of 65 but also people like Hair, Procter, Reid who should be banned from all aspects of cricket. Richards is supporting Procter only because they are both of same colour and country and possibly mates in the team.

You are perfectly right.
Procter and Hair have no self respect. They are a shit. Poor STEVe BUCKNOR. Definitely this was his worst umpiring. But let's not forget he has umpired in highest no. of matches and also umpired sincerely and honestly. He is known for his cool temperement. But what to do.
Fate says it all one lie makes a man liar even if he never lies afterwords. There is no fault with bucknor. the only problem is his age. When a man becomes old definitely it will have symptoms. So We all forgive Mr. Bucknor and request him to step aside from Umpiring (TEMPORARY RETIREMENT). ICC should give monetary compensationfor premature retirement.
In case he still persist to continue umpiring he should use lenses, so that he can see the ball clearly and Ear plugs so that he can hear the sound nicks properly.
But in my opinion he should take temporary retirement. What you say Cricket Buffs.....
It is right though indiscreet to say so. Not too long ago Proctor belonged to a country that was apartheid. With his actions here any one can conclude that he still has that hangover. How could we be sure that his whole attitude has changed from racist thinking?
Gavaskar did everything to protect Ganguly previously as he is anti-Greg Chappel and now he has clearly written against Proctor but asks unbearable questions

You are right. There is no match for Gavaskar. He is the worlds greatest opening batsman and serving cricket since so many years!!! Everyone in the world know now how good dada plays.
you have 100 percent support from the real indians if you say mike procter a racist, not only mike procter, all the players/officials from england, australia, west indies, new zealand, south africa are racist. no doubt about that.

It is all very easy for us to call Kuble a JOker or weak etc. If you are heading a team I am sure your approac will be different too. One can be a street fighter. One should know hwn to give in and when to fight. He made the right knock out punch and was heard.

I mean one can be a street fighter fighting in slums if one is a captain of a national team.

PURNANANDAM. It is a proven fact that of all teams in cricket, the most qualified and educated team is India'a.The level of on field behaviour is clearly representative of the level of education ,culture and upbringing. This is most evident in Australias team behaviour on the field.I am sure there may not be a single university graduate in the whole team or may be one at best!!!!!

Gavaskar is perfectly right in making his opinions public. There should not be any descriminations. Why the Asian teams always comes under the axe of match referees and ICC. why always Asian cricketers get fines and bans more compared to other countries.

It is not necessary to be politically correct eachtime. One should have the courage to use the right words once in a while and definitely in a situation such as this. As it is the ICC is riding piggyback on the asian teams for most of the revenues. On top of it this kind of condescension is hilarious!! How I wish Sidhu was available to argue Indias and Harbhajans case in addition to the team members. Sidhu should be sent as SPECIAL OBSERVER with attorney powers by the BCCI now POST HASTE.!!!!!
Under-fire Indian batting great Sunil Gavaskar [Images] on Tuesday said he never called Mike Procter a racist and the word has been wrongly attributed to him in his column back home.
Gavaskar has been receiving mails and phone calls where critics have taken a shot at him on the basis of his column in which he came after Procter.
"Please do not go by the sensationalist headlines. I would ask my detractors to please read the piece carefully and tell me if I, personally, have called Mr Mike Procter a racist," says Gavaskar.
"That is a complete lie," he said ahead of the third Test beginning in Perth on Wednesday.
All hell broke loose since Gavaskar's piece was published close on the heels of Procter's verdict against Harbhajan Singh [Images] for an alleged racist remark against Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds [Images].
Harbhajan, on the basis of hearsay, was banned for three Test matches.
Gavaskar in his piece has wondered why the other umpire in the Sydney Test, Mark Benson of England [Images], was spared the rod.
"I never called Procter a racist. People who say so haven't read the piece. It's the headlines which have been ascribed to me," Gavaskar said.
Former New Zealand [Images] captain John Reid said after criticising a Match Referee, Gavaskar has no business heading the ICC [Images] Cricket Committee.
South African great Barry Richards also criticised the former India captain, accusing him of playing the racism card.

Media gets money if he publish rubbish news like this. Media is surviving on people's dust. Media do not have patroatism.
We are used to the daily play of religious, caste, racial card by our politicians. But, we had it if we indulge in these overseas. We can accuse Aussies being totally unsportsmanlike, based on facts of course. But if we play the race card, we will left high & dry, alone in a corner sulking.
We should be well prepared with basic knowledge about the dos & dont's, that others practice. If we want it our way, then let us quit. Some tout Asian countries band together. But where is the g'tee that some of us will not again play other stereotypical attitude to further divide us all?
Even remote reference to racialism can get Gavaskar into trouble. While we should put our foot down about fair play and get our way, we have to avoid all issues of racialsm as other countries will forever be offended.
If it was one man's word against another, we should have just stood our ground if Bajji was innocent. We are now being pushed into a corner and go around clarifying or apologising. Any word will be scrutinised for racial intonations.
