money is wasted by BCCI
by sixto dsilva on Jan 14, 2008 09:01 PM

I think all the money generated by tv right, advtmt etc are not under in properly mannerly to improve the std of the cricket in india , our bcci bunch of jokers just eats all the money and nothing is done to modernise the cricket in india. I think it is high time we need to do something in order to make india a cricketing power house.

What abt prize money?
by Ravi Challam on Jan 14, 2008 08:53 PM

Ok, cool. BCCI makes a cool 100 Million a year. But have you looked at the prize-money in Tests and ODIs? Man of the Match - $2000, Man of the series - $5000. Even a first round loser at Wimbledon or any of the Slams receives four times that amount. So, I do wonder what happens to all that money from TV rights sale. The jokers who run BCCI are only interested in making money. I would like to know what do they do with that money - all we hear, free trips to selectors, BCCI committee jokers who cant speak straight, have no clue about the game, board meetings at fancy hotels; expense account for all the "top" BCCI officials. And the players? Who cares anyway.

When will BCCI wake up ?
by Block Buster on Jan 14, 2008 08:33 PM

I don\'t know, when will BCCI wake up and will start working for nation\'s pride, rather than making money.

Now, you have agreed on ICC\'s proposal for Bhajji\'s hearing after 4th test. C\'mon, wake up now. Worst was that you did not help Bhajji in getting leagal help either.

Also, you have withdrawn charges against Hogg too. AMAZING.

May GOD bless BCCI !!!

Why don't the cricket board share some money for the development of other sports in India..Hockey and other sports like atheletics shud also be promoted...india needs a gold in olympics. BCCI members growing eicher everyday. why don't they make the BCCI balance sheet more transparent.

come 2 think of it i dont think the bcci balance sheet has ever been seen by ne1 except board officials. i know bcci isnt a publicly traded organisation (so they arent obligated to) but surely if it does ever make it in public it would make a very ineresting read. i remember ravi shastri makin d same point on tv last year ( i think it was during the south africa tour)

Our right to information makes every citizen of this country eligible to know the BCCI balance sheet. if the bard members are not getting profit from it then why there is so much politics to get into the board...how did they settled the matter with Vengsarkar. every one in the board is engaged in sucking as money much as they can.

I Completely agree. They never looked into improving the standards by using means such as domestic cricket and when Kapil and Zee dared to venture into this, BCCI wakes up with cudgels in its hands to maintain its monopoly. Poor tactics guys. Kudos to Kapil, the ultimate fighter.

Sony's presentation and telecast quality is crap.
by Amit Sharma on Jan 14, 2008 06:19 PM  | Hide replies

They will have dumb commentators and presentors.
No one can match the quality of Channel 9. They are the best in the business.
ESPN-Star Sports are also ok.
But needless to say Sony (Set Max) is truly down market.

Hurrrrrrrrey ICB
by ZH on Jan 14, 2008 06:18 PM

ICB is the top revenue generating Cricket Boards of the world. This is a no surprise from them. The poorer is the cricket in india. The stadiums are not world class. We cant have professional training grounds. Any guess guys what ACB is for....
