Shame

Would be better if you all F'd off home. Even better if you create your own 'asian' league of all 'non-whites' and that way we'd never be subjected to the effigy burning filth that is the sub continent ever again.

You also wouldn't be subjected to cricket! Hurts in the gut, doesn't it - the fact that India is running the game on the back of money? Too bad. Put your tail between your legs and sit silently. If you schmucks want your cheat players to play cricket, you'll just have to accept that India is the boss. :)

Your name says it all. In fact, it should be tagged to all Australian players, especially that simian Symonds. ;)

Let's see if Pawar's double-speak works for Team India
by Prat King on Jan 13, 2008 11:58 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI Chief Pawar had unequivocally committed himself to taking hard postures vis-a-vis the ODI series in order to get Bhajji absolved of the charges Indians allege to be false. This, as he had said himself, included withdrawl from the ODI series.
But Pawar has now made a volte face on the issue. It is probably to get ICC some face saving wiggle room. For the moment, Bhajji gets to play because the hearing date is not fixed.
It seems ICC has negotiated cleverly here, and deferred the matter to a later date to take away some of the leverage BCCI was hoping to have if the matter was decided ASAP. ICC would try to stretch the hearing and the decision process well in to the ODI series or beyond. It seems that ICC would like the appeal decision to be made after the ODI series is over.
This would help both parties. By that time Bhajji would have got to play in the tests, which Indians want, and also Indians would have started pariticipating in the ODIs which Aussies want. Sri Lanka would also like to see India participating.
So, in short the issue has been deferred to a later date. Therefore, BCCI found no sense in continuing with the withdrawl threat. BCCI's withdrawl threat at least got something in the interim - Bhajji will get to play in tests and the mentally and physically blind Bucknor is booted out.
Let's see in this cricket's chessboard moves which party turns out to be winner eventually, or whether the issue will reach a nonsensical stalemate. ICC will play for the l

(contd)
latter. BCCI will need to work out its strategy depending upon which way the decision goes in the Appeal process. If Bhajji is absolved, nothing like it. If not, BCCI will have find some other leverage and play shrewdly. Remember, Speed is heck of a SOB and to he generally has a leaning towards whites. Dalmiya had rubbed his face once in the dog poop, it will be interesting to see whether Pawar can do the same before this wily schmuck (Speed) demits office.
Pawar, the politician, has got what he wanted for himslef - ICC's Chair - by getting the rotation policy nailed down but he has to look after the interestes of the Team India and its milions of supporters.
One hopes he will not play double game to protect his own interests over the national sentiments and Team India's sentiments. But then Indian politician's have never been known to be sons of single father. They can ditch their country and its people for their personal gain. India will wait to see what stuff Pawar is made of!

i will agree with ur last line. ind politician like pawar will ditch the country n its ppl.
if the hearing is postponed, ind's ausi tour will also come to an end. so threat of pullout from ausi tour vl b futile n subsequently bhajji's ban will b confirmed by icc. ind wudnt b in a position to do anything against ausi.

Come back India
by Vishal Madaan on Jan 13, 2008 09:37 PM

I think it is high time that the Indian team should come back home as a protest. How can the BCCI put the Indian prestige at stake by agreeing not to boycott, whatever happens to Harbhajan. BCCI, are you just spineless and greedy?

I also think that the Indian media should try and project more the Indian side and not daily comments by the Aussie players--all we have seen is one article by Kumble in HT but have seen numerous statements by at least 7 Aussies including Symonds who has been speaking despite the ICC gag. C'mon Indian media, we don't need this!

australia is upto mischief
by raj on Jan 13, 2008 06:25 PM  | Hide replies

India is the most persecuted team, although indians are nowhere close to the kind of bad behaviour/ sledging of the aussie team. well, do we really need to talk about the aussie team ? they've been universally condemned by players of the past and also players who are still playing international cricket. one need not say anymore than that. players from all the teams across continents have said that australians enjoy better success rate with their appeals with the umpires, and they also get away with bad behaviour on the field. this data just shows how desperate the aussie team is to turn the tide, now that there's a lot of talk about aussie behaviour on field.

it's also questionable what symonds is upto releasing statements just before the runup to the hearing. He is not doing australia any favours, and its does not hold any meaning anymore for ICC to be watching australian cricketers running amok with unilateral comments and statements.

if push comes to shove, I beleive its about time, Indians take matters into their own hands from ICC. It would be good for the ICC to be split and we'd all be better off not agreeing to make sledging a global phenomenon just for one country.

Thats rubbish!
In the past 10 years India are the worst behaved team in world cricket. Inidan players have been charged with 43 infringements since 1997 including intimidating umpires, abusing rival players, ball tampering, time wasting and dissent. Get your facts right.

Ricky says Hard but fair - the trouble is the Aussies play way too hard, and a lot less fair! For a long time they have gotten away with it, but this time they pushed too hard and got caught. As for the umpiring, Ricky has always been "lucky" when it comes to decisions. In the history of cricket, I dont think anyone else has been as consistently "lucky" for as long as Ponting has been. I wonder if there are statistics to show this kind of stuff - but would be interesting! It is a known fact that the Aussies use off-field tactics to get edge over the opposition, but now it is becoming clear that they are open to bending the rules as well. Dont remember whom -- but there was a statement made that if the 50-50 or even 60-40 sure decisions were given against the Aussies, it is not that difficult to beat them - after this Test, it can be said -- even if 50% of the definitely Out decisions are given Out, it is easy to beat the Aussies! The worst part of everything that happened in Sydney, is that we will forever be wondering "what-if".... Aus for all its mental disintegration tactics is a very weak team mentally - if one game goes against them, they go on to lose more games. See India in 2001, Ashes in 2003, India in Aus in 2004, etc. But I think Aus lost the mental game in Sydney - their charges against Bhajji, the cheating they resorted to, shows this clearly. So India might have a game on at Perth, even if it is Aus' favorite hunting ground. (pun intended - wild dogs do
