Pollock is a cricketer and gentleman

Shaun Pollock represents one of the few remaining gentlemen cricketers. He was thrown out after SA's poor outing in WC 2003 but took it in his stride and continued for 4 long years to contribute what best he could, without indulging in politics, though playing under a much junior captain.

When he was sidelined during the last 12 months or so, and damaging reports were released to say that he will be replaced by a "faster" bowler, one though he would have quit then and there. But he hung on grimly without a squabble. Perhaps it is not a day too soon. Had it been India, a four wicket haul or a 50 would encourage and entitle a player to stay on for another decade!

here is another great falling to the prey of dirty politics!!!
pollock could have easily added anther 3-4 yrs in his CV before retiring but has done prematurely because of politics!!!!
how come a class player of his caliber be sidelined for 6 test matches????
his greatness will be realised after his retirement!!!!

Correction

Okay! At last Rediff announces correction to the title. It is NOT "Pollock announces retirement", it is "Harbhajan announces retirement".
