IS Nasser Hussian a sportsman!!
by shuaib hussain on Jan 13, 2008 02:59 PM

First let me tell you the Incident of Nasser Hussain in a test match against India in 1996-97 at Lords,.. it was the first test first innings and he was on some 10-15 odd runs when he nicked a ball to the keeper of a pull shot of srinath and he did not walked off and you know who was the umpire """MR STEVE BUCKNOR""" Hence hussain does not have rights to speak about the issue as he himself is not a gentle man and these Australians (mcgrath) shud not play cricket as it is a gentleman;s game and yes we Indians are biggest marketers for the Game and we have every right to report about the ill effects and the bad decisions .... I will ask Hussain to put England in India's shoes and think and then speak.. or else SHut UP..

Steve Bucknor has been made the scape goat by Cricket Australia.
by Sunil Dharam on Jan 13, 2008 11:17 AM

Steve Bucknor has been made the scape goat in this whole issue...The issue was not wholly about wrong deceisions by Bucknor... Infact it was about the Aussie cheats. Steve Bucknor was chosen for this sereis by Cricket Australia bcos of the fact about his history of controversy with Indians in the past, even if Steve Bucknor had given all his deceisions correct there was another australian umpire with instructions (to cheat) from Cricket Australia at the other end, it so happened in this match that Steve had a forgaettable match & the other australian umpire also cheated (as instructed) the cummulative effect was so many wrong deceisions against indians.
Now dickie Bird has been roped in by the Australians(whites commraderie)..to get the focus away from Australians & on Steve
No mention can be found of the Australian umpire who infact gave more wrong deceisions than Steve Bucknor, he is been taken out of the picture and he will then continue in international cricket giving deceisions in favor of the aussies, till he will be implicated one day and thrown out(after a decade maybe).. remember another aussie umpire Darryl Hair he was banned from umpiring recently after serving Cricket Australia for more than a decade.

Sydney test

Yes! umpiring was very bad. India lost because it got the worst decisions. And plenty of these.8:1. So Australia played 18 batsmen to India's 12, ie 150% more. This is just plain injustice and so cheating.

Bucknor is biased against India.Take a look at his past decisions.Dravid and Tendulkar have been given out (when not out) on numerous occasions. Why did Ponting escape such a fate? The umpires are biased. Errors are another matter. And errors cannot have a set pattern. A pattern means bias.

And why cant technology be used.Yes each decision must be bisected in slow motion and reversed at the end of the session,so that justice can be delivered in the quickest time.How/Why did Clarke escape 3 no-balls,ofwhich one got a wicket?

Hogg not going to contest, why? That means India were lenient. And why should a fielder unsettle a batsman with words and body play?

Yes this should be monitored closely, if necy with mikes on shirts.

Games must be won on the pitch in a fair way.Players may be great but there are Pontimgs and Zidanes amongst us.Punish them.Make the game fair and sporting.

All true, but isnt it time, that the Indians focused on winning and nothing else. Why do we lose so many test matches. These guys do not seem to have the fire to win! How many times have Ponting or Waugh fought and led from the front? I have played cricket, but we as a nation pay too much attention to these cricketers. we always get the sportsman award but not the winner award! But the Chinese - no -they win.
It is high tme, the cricketers stooped complaining and fought to win - CONSISTENTLY. The BCCI is useless and can only do Politicking!

@ Geeta, this is not bias. This is all organized conspiracy of match fixing.Other wise how come decisions of all three including 3rd umpire can go againt India. All this monkey business is to shift the focus from their undeserved victory.

2nd Test
by SREENU RAO on Jan 10, 2008 10:21 PM

Dear Sir,
In Army you dont allow people with Spectacles. I dont know how Steve Bucknor with soda glasses and 50 (Y)ears which cant hear anything was chosen for the elite panel of umpires in the first place. I think it is high time that the Cricketing world banned Australia from participating in match like the way South Africa was banned for Rascism in the 70's. It is hard to believe that Ricky Ponting belongs to a country which has seen Batsmen walk away to the pavilion if they had nicked even though the umpire called them not out. And Mr. Nasser Hussain this is not the first time that Bucknor had faltered at this level for your kind information. It has been time and again against India.
