Even Australians are Angry..............
by Preet on Jan 10, 2008 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

Following is an excerpts of Poll Report :

Out of 54,435 votes that were counted online on 'Sydney Morning Herald' website, only 27 per cent responded with a 'no' to the question 'If it was right to sack Ponting for his role in the "Monkey Affair".

And some of our Indians feel Ponting & Team are GREATS and What they did was OK...... Sick People

Chin chin chu,
Even if most were Indians, this shows that how much we love our country and we stand behind our team. But it also shows that Australians don't care about their team. Why didn't they take trouble to vote in their own country, own paper, What a shame!! Now say he he he he!!

TJ, so what, if according to you, australians were busy. They don't work for 24 hours a day. They could have login any time and voted. The truth is that majority of Australians are now realising that Ponting and team were at fault. Of late, truth was accepted.

TJ,My support is for cricket and justice, this forum is for cricket and not for political stuff so its better to talk about cricket only.I am not affected by your biased comments because I have some great and wonderful friends in India which includes your popular cricket and filmstars and I know they don't feel hostile towards me just because I am a pakistani and I have no hostility towards them just because they are Indians!I would really appreciate if you refrain from sharing shallow stuff.Best Regards

Match fixing
by Rationalist on Jan 10, 2008 02:58 PM

What happened in Sydney is not just umpiring blunder. But the way all the umpires including third umpire ruling close decisions & also not close decisions against India is a clear case of match fixing. Either the board or the capitan must have taken the umpires into confidence. But the irony is even after fixing they took 7 balls less than 5 days in defeating the Indians. It just shows how desperate they were for recording 16 wins that they did'nt even show courtesy of wishing the loosing team. May be they know they did'nt deserve the win.The confidence with which they were telling they are going to teach India a lesson when they come home complements to where the confidence was comming from.
The media espesially Indian must highlight this as match fixing & not umpiring mishaps. Not just the integrity of Aussie players to be put under scanner but also of Australian board's who have done all these under single minded intention of proving their champion status. Media & Indian fans must take up the issue. No point in being prudentAlso we are all just beating around the bush and these crooks like McGrath pointing are taking advantage of this.Atleast we must dare to level some serious charge that they consider heavily & push them to defensive.

Not Out
by vsgiri on Jan 10, 2008 01:49 PM  | Hide replies

In the last match at Sydney Only Dravid was visibly not out. This cannot be said of others who either offered no bat or had no time to bring the bat down before it flew to the slips. The Indian players Could not hold for 5hrs. is the truth. This was precisely the reason Dravid never enforced follow-on in England. Moreover persons like Zaheer are prone to injury and it is difficult for a captain to believe these people. On two occasions, one at Kolkata where we had only 236 to win and Dravid scored as Captain 56 but others including Zaheer failed to get the winning runs. Even in the finals at Srilanka against Srilanka when Dravid took over Captaincy for Sourab had been suspended by ICC for 4 matches, he was not helped by anyone when India needed to score 267 and Dravid himself scored 69 and Sourab opened to score 20 and from 211 for 5 we collapsed to 246 all out

The problem is consistency in decision making. We know that for same kind of appeals against Australia like that of Dhoni,RPSingh he would have ruled not out. And by the way if you are poor in analysis and cant analyze properly better listen to experts rather than posting your biased opinions.

Fair Play
by Aji Avarachan on Jan 10, 2008 10:38 AM

If matches can be lost or won due to bad umpiring decisions, the charm of the game would otherwise lost and people will lose interest in the game. The ICC needs to be fair with the teams and when it is evident that wrong decisions has played a role in deciding the outcome of a match, they should definitely intervene and take an unbiased stand...Otherwise what is the point? The people watching the game must be all fools at the end of the day..

I was disgusted to know that how ICC and Aussies behave when it comes to southasian teams. Its about time to form our own body of Southasian cricket boards to fight these bloody GORAS in case of any such crisis.Darrell and Bucknor should sit together and sob.Dishonest Aussies. It is amazing how the cricket fans back their teams like we did in Inzi's case but I assure you from all pakistani cricket fans that we are with you guys against aussies and ICC.Good Luck...

Really thanks buddy!! We 3 south asian teams (I'm excluding Bangladesh for a moment) are most of the times victim of such bad behaviour, although we south asian really respect the game & plays according to it's rules.

Thank for your support in uniting against bad behaviour.

I could never understand why a paki supports india. Planting bombshells in India, suicide attacks, claiming our Kashmir and suddenly you incline towards India for the cause of Australians. You dramas might be better elsewhere...

He might have said it really, but in a spontaneous manner. It must have happened too quickly. But still what what Australia did was cheating of first order.Specially Clarke, felt like thrashing him.How dare he stood there after giving the catch to first slip. And the look on pontings face after he appealed for the grounded catch with the helmet on,aah he's disgusting..
