No Self Respect
by Jim on Jan 08, 2008 11:32 PM  | Hide replies

Even though we have Bhajji eligible to play and Bucknor is out, I dont think the guys are fighting for who is in and who is out. If I were sitting there looking at this thing, I would say that we are just trying to win something to say "we did not compromise".

In reality, this whole thing is a compromise and one that is intended to show the world that India did not budge. But, from a player's perspective,

1. Mike Proctor the racist pig is still working on the games.
2. The blemish is not removed.
3. No enquiry is launched into why Bucknor or Benson on their atrocious decision making. No explanation sought from Oxenford for that ridiculous stumping decision that is there for everyone to see.
4. No one has tried to see why Bucknor with his history was appointed for this crucial game.
5. Ponting has not admitted that he messed up relationships by claiming catches and by making the allegations. He is still adamant that he is RIGHT.

With none of these solved, we are doing what we always do. Put a bandaid on the problem and say "well we won". When in reality, Aussies actually won. They are still simply difiant. We go in and play under these circumstances with no apologies etc, we will continue to be people who can be bought and bent. That is exactly what we are at this time.

It is a complete disgrace as a nation that believes that self respect is more important that life itself. May be it is just for preaching.

ultimately Ricky Ponting has won the race and bloody Indian has submitted their prestige in the ashhole. Rickey Ponting knew that nothing will happen after the match except some drama bazi. If situation goes worse they will appologies and 16 consecutive win will prevails. If BCCI didn't called off the tour and symonds are not punished, Ponting didnt loose his creditibility, honesty and integrity then Australian loompen has done right thing against "Shemale" Indian. What Kumble has said we should stict on that point and leave the game for not agreeing to play with the uncivilized, uncultured, dishonest indisciplined unruly cricketers like Australia. I know "Shemale" Sharod power doesn't have any guts to fight against white. He is a foot sucker and quickly accepted the peace proposal offered by ICC TO DEFEND Rickey Ponting and others. The word against Hogg is only to divert people's attention from the limelight. I hope and trust ALL Indian should boycot cricket till the solution.

even pak capt inzamam was really brave
against eng, as he considered a ball tempering penalty of merely 5 runs imposed on pak team as a case of cheating not merely against pak team but as a charge levelled against pak nation.
n here bcci asks team to go n play for the baseless racism charges levelled by ausi m*key against ind. its an insult to nation.

Shame on team India if tour is continuing with out clear conclusions
by Naveed on Jan 08, 2008 11:30 PM  | Hide replies

I am throughly disappointed at BCCI. This goes to show that Indians lack spine. Shameless as it is, India is continuing tour with clear knowledge that Harbhajan's conviction could possibly upheld. Where is the 'enough is enough (injustice ????)' attitude gone ? Where has the "Matter of Indian Honor" gone ?
Based on their antics, i propose to sack BCCI and ICC. In protest, I would not watch or follow the australian series any more.

managing this like the agriculture. Work goes on inspite of him and not because of him. Can make no decision that is moral.

Compare this with the previous regime of BCCI. I also think SP was one of the poorest "administrative" leaders produced by maharastra barring SB Chavan

by vinay naik on Jan 08, 2008 11:21 PM  | Hide replies

Sharad pawar ia a guy who will even sell his motherland,if he gets good returns out of it.Whatever may be the case, our indian team is a greatest revenue maker for ICCI.So what if we pay the exit charges. We have so many politicians bribing and stealing such penalty fees in a day in india.

It was a matter of prestige and not money.if pawar is taking undue advantage even out of this serious issue, then let me agree that he is not born on an indian earth.

I send my strong resentment again the behaviour of BCCI.All are cowards

From the way the BCCI has handled this crisis and actually let down the Indian Team and the whole country of cricket lovers, probably the first person who should have quit should have been the President of the BCCI.

by Probal Borah on Jan 08, 2008 11:15 PM  | Hide replies

Notwithstanding whatever is all your opinion, I would like to see Team India ahead and finish the last two matches..
Now PLEASE.... wait. Let us see how far the Bandars can stoop to win their 17th in a row.
I mean would not that be on record (?) and a RECORD for all the generations to see and judge for themselves?

As they say, "Give him enough rope, he will hang himself"!!!!!!!

Now who agrees with me or am I alone?????

That is just a little bit of bull. The whole issue will be forgotten and only the records will remain. In anycase, no one is grudging the Australians a record, provided they had attained it in credible means and which they were quite capable of.

When a guy hits a century, no one will realise that he had 10 chances. But, the record of scoring the Century will remain.

Records will fall : If ICC is willing to check this Aussie players for Steroids ( Perfomence enhancing stuff). If you look at Ponting's records he had some brillinat centuries in the Finals ( Including World cup 2003 ). I was wondered since then. In a difficult situvation they brought up some unimaginable perfomence ( including Gilchrist's Century )

Lots of athlets in USA ( Baseball to Olympics, Europe are addicted to Steroids and there are some world records swimmers from Australia, who being caught for steriod use...

I have to agree with you. I am begining to not enjoy the game anymore. Indians including the playes lack any kind of self respect. There is no way we want people like that to do well when we know that they have no self respect and are not people I can identify with.

I see them as a bunch of idiots.

WHAT COMPLETE BLITHERING NONSENSICAL FARCE
by ssbmat on Jan 08, 2008 11:15 PM  | Hide replies

This incident is just another example of how we in India love attention and give as much attention as we get. A silly comment has been overblown out of proportion by Indian cricket officials-with tall claims of NATIONAL Pride, Indian Honour-
Where the F is the honour of Indian fans, officials when our Hockey players and other athletes have to sleep on Raiway platforms during their tours? Where is the honour when our Olympic athletes train and even run barefooted because they dont have adequate sportswear? This is simply because our Outrageously rich Cricketers get so much attention.
But that is what India today is all about.
A GREAT TAMASHA of the BILLION PEOPLE.

you are right, Hope every Indian sport person would get the same treatment. Cricket got all the glamour and all other sports are on dust. It is all bookies controlled media. The underworld controls the betting, and they want move ppl involved in it. And they influence media ppl. It is all under linked.bad for our sports culture. At lease we show our patriotism this way, which is good

what was the real intention of the Aussie ?
by hollowman on Jan 08, 2008 11:08 PM

well,
we all are aware what happened that fatefull day in the SCG. But the Indian contingent have failed to press the charge against the aussies for excesive apealing, pressurizing the Umpires and behavoour unbecomming of a cricketeer. I remember Virender Sehwag being charged with this offence sometimes back.

Why this aspect have gone unnoticed is beyond my comprehension. May be the Aussies have done enough to deflect the attention. May be that was their real mission !
