The first thing is to be done ....

Ricky Ponting sacked from captaincy and banned from Test (at least 3) and One days ( atleast 5.

The above punishment is given by ICC code of conducts ... for Level 3 offense.

1. As a Captain ( read disdained leader ) he permitted his boys carry on the 'monkeyman ship'

2. He deliberately gave wrong information to the umpires which lead to wrong decisons and chaos. [this is a level 3 offence]

3. He supported Symonds ( not to become Bhajji's bunny )

4. He encouraged in making huddle after the match without acknowledging the opposition team.

This has to be the first step ....followed by ..

A. Removing Steve ( which had been done )

B. Nullify the Sydney test (without disputing if/else conditions)

C. Proper action on Symonds for improper allegations

D. Leave Brad Hogg. He is too young ( warn him ..... and add his percentage to Ponting's punishment)

Now folks don't think I am Ponting hater ... I still believe that Ponting is one of those players who rise themselves in Big Occasions (e.g. World Cup finals / Decider matches etc)
But As aCaptain he simply sucks ...

Unfortunately you guys have 1 thing in common, you all barrack for India and none of you are impartial or unemotional in writing these comments. Harbajan said what he said, there is no reason for Symons or anyone else to just make it up and you could see Symons replying to him the words "So I'm a monkey am I?". After what happened in the recent Indian tour Singh should have known what would happen by calling Symonds a monkey and got what he deserved in the 3 match ban as a deterent to other players. I realise you are all gutted by such a close and sudden loss but you and the BCCI should learn to lose with more grace and not sob about being hard done by so much. If you had not lost the test we wouldn't have had any of this fracas to begin with. Winners don't blame the umpires or oppossition captains, just poor losers. The financial power of BCCI is the only reaosn this is going any further. Do you think the ICC would have given a minnow such as Bangladesh such preferential treatment? No, they would have told them to shut up and take there medicine. Don't kid yourselves, you got beaten and that is that and Harbajan Singh said what he said and deserves to be banned in the current environment, to do anything less by te ICC would send out the wrong message. And remember fellow countrymen, you are men, not weeping women. Get over it and stop discraging your country with such pathetic childish comments.

Bangalore boy.

u said harbhajan said these words right. were u there when he said it. even the umpires said they heard nothing then how could they punish bhajji without him saying nething tell. is it fair not to hear to indians who were present at the hearing. was ponting justified in the manner he acted. for the same offence rashid latif of pakistan was given a 5 match ban. why. because he was an asian.

When that ball tampering issue creeped up against inzamam hair was sacked bcuz he was wrong pakistan have no financial impact on icc. they were right that is y darell hair was sacked. so how do u justify ponting. he not being punished while latif being punished.

whatever bhajji may have suffered, the fact remains is that he got away with back slapping and an underhanded one at that. I wish I could download that clip from somewhere.

New Rules to be implemented by ICC
by arvind kumar on Jan 09, 2008 12:57 PM  | Hide replies

After watching the test match, someone has written some rules have to be incorporated by ICC to give the other teams a perfect clarification

(1) Ricky Ponting %u2013 (THE TRULY GENUINE CRICKETER OF THE CRICKET ERA AND WHOSE INTEGRITY SHOULD NOT BE DOUBTED) should be considered as the FOURTH UMPIRE. As per the new rules, FOURTH UMPIRE decision is final and will over ride any decisions taken by any other umpires. ON-FIELD umpires can seek the assistance of RICKY PONTING even if he is not on the field. This rule is to be made, so that every team should understand the importance of the FOURTH UMPIRE.

(2) While AUSTRALIAN TEAM is bowling, If the ball flies anywhere close to the AUSTRALIAN FIELDER(WITHIN 5 metre distance), the batsman is to be considered OUT irrelevant of whether the catch was taken cleanly or grassed. Any decision for further clarification should be seeked from the FOURTH UMPIRE. This is made to ensure that the cricket is played with SPORTIVE SPIRIT by all the teams.

(3) While BATTING, AUSTRALIAN players will wait for the ON-FIELD UMPIRE decisions only (even if the catch goes to the FIFTH SLIP as the ball might not have touched the bat). Each AUSTRALIAN batsman has to be out FOUR TIMES (minimum) before he can return to the pavilion. In case of THE CRICKETER WITH INTEGRITY, this can be higher.

(4) UMPIRES should consider a huge bonus if an AUSTRALIAN player scores a century. Any wrong decisions can be ignored as they will be paid huge bonus and w
