India should not take a single step backwards in this fight !! Not one !!
by S Chandra on Jan 10, 2008 02:49 AM

India should stay on the attack in this fight for Harbhajan !!!
They should make it a point that in the absence of any concrete evidence that Harbhajan said the word, it should be inferred that Ponting and Symonds have come up with a false legal charge.

And for that they should be sued for public defamation ! And Harbhajan should be paid the reparations !

India should press charges of defamation on all the 4 players involved, if there is no proof !!

And in case of Hayden, Gilchrist and Clark, they should bring charges of false witness, which is lying under oath.

The penalty for which is imprisonement !

This matter should not rest.

Australia must pay for making false allegations on a representative of India.

Removing Ponting from captaincy is not enough. He should be sacked from playing cricket forever, and in fact, be sent to jail !!

To bring a charge of racism on a player without any proof whatsoever is a serious offence, its a very serious offence.

India should pursue this matter to the end !!!
No backing down !!

Jai Hind !!

Ranjan Madugalle - Politics
by Neptune Agassi on Jan 09, 2008 10:45 AM

The ICC has played nice politics by putting Ranjan M as the Judge. If he clears Bhajji the Australians will say that because he's an asian he has cleared Bhajji and also there will be self pressure on Ranjan to "appease" the whites just to show that he's unfazed by the regional affiliations and will go with the ICC Decision of Banning Bhajji. Its a tricky move by ICC and whatever the outcome we will still be the losers.

Instead of complaing - what if white cricketers racially abused Harbhajan
by Secular India on Jan 09, 2008 10:36 AM

to take revenge on Symonds ?

Believe me - Harbhajan would have been a mental wreck and would not have dared to come out and play cricket again.

Ponting did the right thing - everyone will be careful now including the Aussies before they open their mouths now.

sorry state of affairs
by prasad v lolla on Jan 09, 2008 10:27 AM

Bcci will get away with its spineless act because nobody has the power to pull them up for their actions and sack them right away and right now and put the indian team on the next flight to india .

The whole nonsensical episode will become transparent to the world if and only if indian team walks out if they dont aussies will continue to do what they have always done in australia they are all nice when they tour other countries because they know they cannot toast their bread in forein countries they are waiting for some team any team to come to australia so that first they can disturb the visiting team psychologically and then play their sick game of accusations one way or another enough has been talked and enough has been said by one and all but I firmly believe

sack all the members of Bcci and call back the indian team right away and then discuss the issue from home soil that would be the right approach instead of standing there with a lota in front of mocking aussies .

What to do..?
by TARUN on Jan 09, 2008 10:16 AM  | Hide replies

The best strategy to Show your strength to ICC and Australia is call off all your playing 11 and send all new team to play with them so that no one can ask for the money to call off the series and australians will also be happy after this that they have cleared the series against childs.

was surprised to read the message from some people.
Even at a situation where the pride of nation is on the question? there are people who want to show their character in such way.

but history always proven us that, Like everything, Culture, Wealth, knoweldge India is also abudance of TRAITORS.
Not a single invader to India able to intrude into our country without the help of such traitors from our land.

You are a traitor GN. In our country - we are insulted everyday when fair skin creams are sold and our colour insulted. Dumb people like you have only false pride to support useless issues. You have no sense of shame or pride. People like you are scared of whites and will show bravery by insulting the only African player in the Aussie team. Ponting has the character to stand by him as racism is a heinous crime. We may disagree on all other thinsg about him - but here he is right on the spot.

it is not the time to justify the neighbour, finding reason why he burnt our home and justify his action. It is time to protect first our home and our family and stand beside them. I hope you understand the message clearly with its indepth meaning.

I pity your comparing and discussion intellectuality. Comparing fairness cream issue with the matter of our Indians getting targetted in a foreign land. you are one of those in our land, who will eat and praise everything given out by White skin and find reason to abuse and criticise fellow Indians.

Stand by truth and values; and examine your own attitudes towards other races and for people who are different from us. Respect for human dignity has no international boundaries. This is not a war that we are fighting with Pakistan but a matter of looking at what is the correct principled way.

Symond is sick
by Tridib sharma on Jan 09, 2008 10:12 AM  | Hide replies

In the final analysis Andrew Symond appears to be sick and suffering from an acute complex where he sees even a friendly banter as a racial abuse. He is blisfully unaware of his own foul mouth. He needs urgent medical attention and by saying so I am not joking.

You seem to be the kind of guy who will go and buy "fair and handsome" cream on Shahrukh's recommendation. You are sick because you do not feel offended when your skin is insulted everyday and you keep quite about it.

this is a good sounding board for our own indians. We chose our so called leaders who led the country to the gutters, since independence,& made the world call us a poor country.India is a far more superior, politically & economically, country, in it's true strength, than a hundred europe's & america's put together. It's high time, to wake up, & do this bit for the country, in this lifespan, as a real tribute, to the sacrifices, made by our martyrs. Don't wait for the next Gandhi. Be a Gandhi. Weed out these self interested, filthy, politicians, & elect some good people. The responsibility lies with all of us.India wants economic freedom, & all we have to do is work hard, to regain our lost glory.High time we shut the traps of the materialistic, bush's & elizabeth's,who have no sense of history & got going. Each one leads one. Collectively we are a force to reckon with. Where are all our educated, enlightened masses.Educated enough to chose some good leaders. we have chosen ourselves to rot in the gutters. time to change that. And it is each one's responsibility. We have a lot of good people in our country.Let it not go to waste.Get up & get to work.Have a focus.Weed out the filth we have spawned, in our so called leaders.Surely we have better people.Don't be ordinary. Be extraordinary.Sports is one thing. The country another.Get the message across. quietly we can do wonders.Let the good people come forth.Definitely we have millions in a billion population.Get to work

Well said. its high time people came forward to defend the national dignity. Its not the question of Harbhajan it is the "Indian" tag that we must support whole heartedly. Forget about politicans and officals. They are interested only in power and money. For example see Gill he has been at IHF helm of affairs for the last 20 years. The result - India plays for the last 4 positions against Kenya, Argentina. Ireland etc. in all major hockey tournaments.

We are the power and have progressed tremendously over the last decade owing to sheer hard work which is being despised not only by the white world but by the colored world as well.

Its sad that we are being led at world stage by such compromising characters.

Best way to protest
by Indivar Shyam on Jan 09, 2008 09:59 AM  | Hide replies

The best way to protest is let the present cricketers return to India and send India `A' team to Australia so that we need not pay any
amount to ICC for calling off the tour and at
the same time we will be laying a path for the
future teams to follow suit. The second option
is declare / get all out in the 1st innings for a single digit no. and concede the test. This will incur huge loss to ICC due to no viewership and no Ads.

The first option is not possible, even for replacing one or two players needs solid reasons.

Second option will daage the Indian Team's Record, instead, India should give Walk Over & let them WIN.
