When Bhajji ban & Poor umpiring issues are taken care, can anyone tell how Team India can get away with their role in loosing this match & face of India?

It was pathetic to loose 6 wickets on placid pitch to non regular bowlers like Symonds & Clarke.

Agreed that we played against all the odds in Sydney but still fact of the matter was we were in a better position to draw the match. Is it fair to let our paper tigers to get away from their role in making it happen? Why it can not also become an issue?? They are getting paid irrespective of their performances. Aren't they answerable???

You are making very good points. I was ashamed to see that the last three of our players, eventhough tail-enders, did not even have the nerve to last one over! Yuvraj and Jaffer were pitiful. When Kumble showed guts to stay and fight, these two could not last even one over. In the end, all the bad umpiring notwithstanding, the final blame should go to our pampered and highly paid players for losing both the tests.

Weakest Team
by Raman sSubramanya on Jan 09, 2008 11:00 AM  | Hide replies

Indian team is the weakest one which is touring Australia now.

Jaffer......A miserable flop
Dravid......A make shift opener, who cant play aggressively.
Laxman. Can play on featherbed. If the bounce is uneven, a certain candidate for lbw as he cant bend and play.
Sachin........Plays for records. Never played for teams cause. An utter flop when required, especially in second innings.
Saurov...Luck is smiling now towards him. A poor fielder.
Yuvraj....Cant see balls and play. It seems his interest is elsewhere.
Dhoni...Can play only in India and Pakistan.
Anil Kumble.....Gentleman, thats all I can say.
Bhajji...Indulges himself in controversies than taking wickets.
RP Singh.......Inconsistent.
Ishant......Inexperienced. After 4 overs, he cant run and misses his run up. Such is the stamina he has.

How can anyone expect a bunch of the above players to compete with any team ?

buzz off bozo. if you really dont have pride in your team, whatever its short comings, during the hour of crisis, you should opine this way. maybe yu can accuse them of not paying to their potential. but thats not only their problem. its a larger problem with bcci and the entire setup.

Ranjan Madugalle - Politics
by Neptune Agassi on Jan 09, 2008 10:55 AM  | Hide replies

The ICC has played nice politics by putting Ranjan M as the Judge. If he clears Bhajji the Australians will say that because he's an asian he has cleared Bhajji and also there will be self pressure on Ranjan to "appease" the whites just to show that he's unfazed by the regional affiliations and will go with the ICC Decision of Banning Bhajji. Its a tricky move by ICC and whatever the outcome we will still be the losers. The best option is to stop playing any matches unless the Aussies have apologised for putting a false accusation and the ICC ban be lifted.

IF we donot play it is loss for BCCI and Players so how come u think Powar will order to returnback without playing test matched remained.Furhter it is a trick to bycot one dayers. this will not effect much. further Powar is having an eye on ICC presidentship in furture so u can understand easily.

Add one more ; if a guy takes long time to give a decision (a wrong one ) it means he is bucknoring the issue. (Bucknor takes quite a while to say yes or no when a bowler appeals)

amit malik
spirit of game
by amit malik on Jan 09, 2008 10:38 AM

I personally am not very swayed by the whole idea of spirit of game U play to win and thats what competitive sports is today. Australians sledge, they r arrogant etc etc is all true but they have been doing it as they were were getting away with it and somehow managed to stay within percieved rules of the match referees ( some of who clearly biased) However they win most matches. I do not find these tactics objectionable as they are no clear systems to deal with it. All sledging should be banned and rules be applied consistently for all teams . Fault lies with rules/ consistent application of rules by umpires/referees. Who needs to control sledging, excessive appealing etc i think its umpire's job. Let there be deterrants of strict penalties for misbehaviour of players

By accusing bhaji aussies made a big blunder they will now not resort to these tactics . Unbiased umpires, clear rules and consisitent application for all teams is way forward.

India's dramatic loss, poor umpiring , Aussie aggression and dishonesty & racial accusation provided environment for response we r seeing today. I hold aussie cricket team in poor light for racial accusation but not for aggression/claiming catches . You do not complain people of making inappropriate comments when your track record is pathetic. they have dug their own grave now say bye bye to aussie slediging for ever now (hopefully)good they complained against bhaji in a way spirit of game is nonsense play with rules
