Mr.Schembri
by Rohit on Jan 09, 2008 08:35 PM

Mr. Schembri, its obvious that Harbhajan is following the footsteps of Sreesanth. But remember one thing that cricket is a game and never had been a gentlemans game, also with its reach in rural and remote places in various countries, players come from various cultures. The sportsman are not priests and some of them are driven to cricket just because they are errant and cant concentrate in their studies (more so in developing countries) looking for easy money. So more is the need for discipline in cricket. This comes from the umpires and match referees and ICC. Now in this match, if a side loses a match with so much biased decisions at crucial moments in the last 5 minutes of a match, its clear which side could have won otherwise. Also every man has a reputation so Kumble and Sachin have a very strong reputation compared to Ponting and Symonds. Steve Wagh was also a practical man on the field and also used to play mind games but his reputation was also undoubted.
We can ignore everything by saying its just a game but now-a-days huge money is at stake (black or white), so that doesnt remain a game anymore.

india should with draw
by Durai Nagarajan on Jan 09, 2008 07:00 PM

India should with draw from ongoing series and report an complain about the aussies to ICC, we should not leave this matter casually bcause the matter is related to racial abuse and indians are always insulted for that now white people are complaining that we are doing the shame. Indian government should take an ncessary action on this.......

Really funny this. We have to admit that the Aussies are the masters of this game and there are just few occasions like Sydney where they are on the mat. IF ONLY EMOTIONS COULD HAVE WON GAMES, really funny. I think in fact that the indian team should keep a cool head and play full throttle rather than with a grudge.

I agree. i would really like to see india do well but I have a feeling that the 'Aussie Tiger' has been let loose as well. There is much anger in Australia at present(as there is in India)and a sluggish team has been awakened. I don't think that Australia has played very well in this series. They have been lucky to win in Sydney. The perth pitch will suit their new 4-pronged pace attack. Although India have a formidible batting line-up, the pace of Tait and Lee will be difficult to overcome. Whatever happens, it is going to be one action-packed meeting of the 2 current powerhouses of world cricket.

Boot Aussies from IPL
by Debashish Ghosh on Jan 09, 2008 05:24 AM  | Hide replies

If this how Australian players behave and play the game why is Indian Board paying them such huge amounts for playing in IPL. Board should cancel their contracts. They demean us, accuse us of racism and also want to make money out of us. We should summarily show them the door. Gandhism can take back seat, at least temporarily.

It goes BOTH ways India
by Charlie Schembri on Jan 09, 2008 03:14 AM  | Hide replies

1. A team appeals for LBW when the ball has clearly hit the bat (as Peter Roebuck says, you can clearly hear the difference between the sound of pad or willow). The player is given out due to this appeal.
2. A player rolls along the ground several times in a shameless and exuberant display after dismissing an opponent.
3. A player is given out after the ball has been deemed caught by the umpire. In flagrant disregard for the rules and disrespect for the umpire, the player stands his ground and then approaches the umpire to berate him before leaving the field.
4. A player makes his way out to the field for the final minutes of a test match, in the knowledge that he only needs to last to the designated finish time. In blatant defiance to the spirit of the game he conveniently forgets his correct gloves, thus eroding precious time from the game, and deny his opponent further chances to win. As a young player he was surely instructed to do this by senior members of the team.
5. A player is cited for racism after evidence is given by five opponents. The player is an alleged repeat offender and he has been warned against this before. A neutral match referee upholds this charge due to the evidence and is later forced to defend his unbiased decision after criticism and derision from the offending party.

Poor old Vishnu..at it again. You really are inept(you will have to look that up because you appear to have a very limited vocabulary) If you actually said something which added to the debate then we would all listen to you BUT you just meander on like the Ganges. Charlie 4/Vishnu 0.

I have a better vocabulary than your grandfather, father and you.

I am going to see how the wallabys behave in Perth before adding anything else to the debate.

Harbhajan free to play??
by Ian Chappell on Jan 08, 2008 04:35 PM

What does it mean by free to play? Does it mean Harbhajan singh has just took a "Stay" against his ban or he is free of guilty?
I think this whole Aussies episode has been delt quite badly which they shouldn't. Aussies really set up a really bad example of going to the umpires for everything asked against them on the field and I think because of this they won't be able to use "Mental Disintegration" tactic on the field any more, they must now tape their mouth in future on the field in future!
I think you really did wrong Mr. Ponting by acting crying babies and it will only backfire you in future!!
