Johnson
Steve Bucknor - West Indian or Anti Indian
by Johnson on Jan 08, 2008 10:19 AM

Bucknor has come in for criticism for his poor umpiring decisions particularly against India.

He was widely criticised for his poor decision making during India's tour of Australia in 2003-04.

Again in the Sydney test this month a series of controversial decisions went against India.

What has made him Anti Indian?

Steve Bucknor born in 1946 was 37 years old when India beat West Indies in the 1983
World Cup Final. Has this incident made him Anti Indian ?

Take steps to nullify this result....
by rajesh t on Jan 07, 2008 04:36 PM

BCCI should initiate actions with the ICC to see to that this result at Sydney is nullified. They should also initiate steps to stop those goons---Bucknor & Benson do not figure in the ICC pannel with immediate effect. Also BCCI should complain to the match refree aginst R.Ponting for his cheating behaviour and see to that he is banned for atleast 6 tests with immediate effect.
If the ICC does not comply to this BCCI should inform both Cricket Australia and ICC that they are calling the present team back and are sending a second string team for the remaining 2 tests.....If Mr.Powar and company cant show atleast this act of patriotism and self esteem then I feel that the sports ministry should iniytiate these actions. If this also does not happen then I feel WE THE PUBLIC HAVE THE RIGHT TO COURT WITH A PLEA TO STOP THESE NONSENSE HAPPENING BECAUSE WE PAY FOR WHAT WE ARE VIEWING>HENCE AS CONSUMERS WE CAN DO THIS.....IS POWAR LISTENING OR IS HE COUNTING THE DOLLARS PAID AS BRIBE TO HIM BY CAB AND ICC???...

Didnt people see Kumble face when asked to comment about the umpiring by Harsha Bhogle at the end of play .. He was dying to say evrything...But the real bit fat MONKEY of INDIAN CRICKET "SHARAD GOON POWAR" whose main intention is not CRICKET but the money from it, not CRICKET but the ICC presidentship, had ordered the team manager to immediately shut the mouths of seniors...juniors to hai hi BANDAR...Did anyone see the body language of YUVRAJ and DHONI?? YES EVRYONE did..if Yuvraj or Dhoni is thrown out, the sponsors would move otu..then where will the money come from?? Everyone is blaming the Umpires, YES true they played a part in India's losing but "THE ENEMIES ARE WITHIN..." , people should not forget to throw the rotten tomatoes at them...

BCCI should ask for cancellation of the second test or call back the team abandoning the series. But i doubt they have the guts to do that. They r waiting for the presidentship of ICCI in a few months. They wont risk losing that chance i guess !

Cancellation of the test will not serve any purpose rather indians who played a good cricket at sydney should try to play much harder at perth and adelaide and win the test matches.

Umpiring
by Nagarajan Thanjavur on Jan 07, 2008 11:02 AM

It is just PARTIAL AMPIRING DECISIONS that gave away the victory to Australia on a platter. Why Buckner and Johnson alone. Even the third umpire and Mike Procter has behaved erroneously.
They all need to be SACKed for ever. That will become a lesson for such Stupid people. BCCI with its Financial Clout should get this done, if not en masse quit ICC membership. BCCI should collect all Asian Cricketing nations against this attitude & Why play when there is only cheating

sorry guys, i should have said prosecution pary. I simply cannot understand why the ICC can't take a decision, this has been going on for many years now. the other thing is some players, former players and umpires saying that use of technology would take away the human element. Human element at what cost? the very result of the match? it would have been OK if the umpires were able to give the right decisions atleast in a way that we might think, well that decision wouldnot have had much of an impact on the result of the match. but all it leaves is sour taste in the mouth. a real cricket lover who is an indian would feel the same, even if india wins a match like this. comments pls...

The test series in australia is like this. To win a test in Australia, Indians should take 25 wickets whereas aussies need just 15.

while technology is avail - Why we can't use technology ? don't we use modern technology in other areas of the life ? like - medical, areospace, IT ?

This tour is wired (fixed) before India landed in AUS - India didn't have enough time to adgust the time change, only one practice match - guys BCCI wants to make money at any coast ( we're the stupid fans watch the game day/night) BCCI makes millions of dollars along with ICC - this system is currept - we just can't blame umpires for everything

We, BCCI should insist that all records on this match should have the preface for posterity that "The Match records should be looked at in the Context of 10 decisions going against India that could have reulted in a win for India"
