Jason Bourne
Leadership
by Jason Bourne on Jan 13, 2008 11:42 PM

Umpire asked him and he said he took the catch cleanly. Umpire trusted him and gave his decision. Umpire can be blamed for mis-judging Ponting and standing by Ponting's statement.

But, he now is trying to shift the blame on umpiring, instead of owning up his mistake. On top of that he is asking reporters to not question his integrity.

And the team and Cricket Australia are behind him. But his leadership and integrity will be under question forever. If he atleast backed umpires who backed his decision and admitted he may have misjudged his catch, I would have given him benefit-of-doubt. But not after this statement.

SYDNEY TEST
by Krishna Prasad on Jan 08, 2008 10:44 AM

The worst thing to happen to world cricket, bad umpiring and uncivilized behavior of the Australian team, even though they claim to be "professional". They are worst than the beast.

Australian Board is involved in Match Fixing.
by uday shankar on Jan 07, 2008 03:06 PM

As Pointing infers that he is a Honest Person while feilding but VV Dishonest while Batting.
First off all does the person has integrity to be questioned.

My inference is the Australia Board is with the Aus Team(So called Sportive, Ethical Team) and has got the match fixed along with the empires and Match Refree. Otherwise such a big lapse of the credibilty of the Game would not have been lost.
And Mike Procter the so called Match refree feels a God who can listen what Harbajan spoke and not the feild empires and players and the technology. Now don't you call this as so called "R....". I cannot understand why BCCI is still clinging to ICC and why are they not so Proactive for all the incidents and save the morale of the Players.

If u play Cricket in this manner and want u to establish the same, then better play it amongst yourselves. Why u call other gentlemen to participate? U, the blo_dy notorious, win by any means is not a sportsman spirit.

Yes u are perfectly right. He is bloody idiot and calling himself a great sportsman. First of all subcontinent teams should stop playing with the aussies. Its not only for indians injustice even muralidharan and sangakkara has suffered at the hands of aussies and their greats like the idiot chappels and borders.

Ponting should be inducted as Umpire and not as player
by Titu Sha on Jan 07, 2008 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

After watching the test match, I feel some rules have to be incorporated by ICC to give the other teams a perfect clarification

(1) Ricky Ponting %u2013 (THE TRULY GENUINE CRICKETER OF THE CRICKET ERA AND WHOSE INTEGRITY SHOULD NOT BE DOUBTED) should be considered as the FOURTH UMPIRE. As per the new rules, FOURTH UMPIRE decision is final and will over ride any decisions taken by any other umpires. ON-FIELD umpires can seek the assistance of RICKY PONTING even if he is not on the field. This rule is to be made, so that every team should understand the importance of the FOURTH UMPIRE.

(2) While AUSTRALIAN TEAM is bowling, If the ball flies anywhere close to the AUSTRALIAN FIELDER(WITHIN 5 metre distance), the batsman is to be considered OUT irrelevant of whether the catch was taken cleanly or grassed. Any decision for further clarification should be seeked from the FOURTH UMPIRE. This is made to ensure that the cricket is played with SPORTIVE SPIRIT by all the teams.

(3) While BATTING, AUSTRALIAN players will wait for the ON-FIELD UMPIRE decisions only (even if the catch goes to the FIFTH SLIP as the ball might not have touched the bat). Each AUSTRALIAN batsman has to be out FOUR TIMES (minimum) before he can return to the pavilion. In case of THE CRICKETER WITH INTEGRITY, this can be higher.

(4) UMPIRES should consider a huge bonus if an AUSTRALIAN player scores a century. Any wrong decisions can be ignored as they will be paid huge bonus and will

pontings integrity should be questioned if he has a questionable integrity. Whats wrong in that? Is this not the same guy who was thrown out of a calcutta night club by bouncers for misbehaving with women?
