his ban should have been imposed last year.becoz of WC pressure it got delayed.since it was at their home WI board might have thought of delaying the action.nowonly it is proposing to take.
Here is the guy who once was touted to be the next Viv Richards. Now, his bowling is banned, he is found guilty of misconduct. A glittering career gone waste. I am just happy that he is not from India. We do not want another bright prospect losing way after gaining some success (read money).
Quite a few people on this forum seem to be confusing between betting and match-fixing.
In this case, there is no allegation of match-fixing, only confidential information has been passed to a bookie. And the bookie probably used that information to make favorable bets.
Of course, there is a possibility of Samuels underplaying after accepting money from a bookie. This would technically amount to match-fixing, albeit on a small scale. But if the problem is only on a small scale it should get corrected by itself, say Samuels gets dropped because of poor performances in critical matches.

Precise n concise.Keep it up.A few comments in Rediff are worth their words. It is not essential to make own INDEPENDENT comments everytime , if the point is already made.I find here people don't read other's comments...everyone writes just her own...result...same comments hundreds of times...most write own DESI english and with typical indian arrogance, prejudice & frustration. So i find this comment exceptional...keep it up.

Your match-fixing allegation is baseless. Unless otherwise proven, it's better (for the sake of our own sanity) not to imagine things !
Even in Samuel's case, there is no allegation of match-fixing, just passing on of confidential information. It's more of a betting thing than match-fixing.
I think we should be happy that the whole match-fixing thing is behind us.
