This guy should have been relegated to a reserve and paid minimum amount. The game and the team that picked him has a lot of choices, and in 20/20 it would make no difference with him. This guy really knows how to mouth off like he runs ICC, and world cricket and now he knows he is worth very little to the Indian Club. Good lesson for him, and IPL really punted him hard.

Man,dn't ruin cricket for Politices.Cricket needs class act like Ponting and IPL should luv to get him.He is a true champ and all world knows dat.
Where is all this money coming from? Gate receipt, adverts or black money. Imagine somebody paying 4X as much to have Dhoni in the team compared to Ponting. Dada and Yuvraj lucked out by virtue of being icon players. Poor Laxman, no icon and low price!

1. The money is being put up as ad costs by the various sponsors. Mallya said that he was not expecting to take a loss - which will be a tax write-off.
2. Laxman is a real gentleman to give up his icon status. In this age people will say he is foolish, because he gave up half a million dollars.
The clear picture of the catches ponting declared he had caught inspite of grounding them must have backfired, showing the clear spirit he puts into the game.
Flintoff made a good point recently in one of his interviews ,about the cricketers complaining about the busy international schedule. I think the Indian players kept on complaining most as they were not able to spend much time in doing advertisement to get money. Now since this is another option to get money they would not complain. Does anyone think about the injury they may gain in this tournament barring them playing the international matches ? What about the pshycological impact from the outcome of the tournament ? If ICC bends to the money power of BCCI and accomodate the IPL into the their schedule , then they have to reduce the no. of International matches. As a vivid cricket lover we will see less contribution from the player playing for their country . I would not certainly happy watching the matches people play to gain their own money. If I like kolkatta and does not like Ponting , I am confused whom to support ???? Look at Ponting complaining about his price he is auctioned at. When the base price was much more than what they get in their country to get for a short period , he is still complaining . There is no doubt that they are after money only and guess whose money it is " The Indian average Consumers" , Do not get surprise if your monthly expense increases by 5% from April.
