See in Big Games what Ponting is
by Deepak Kapase on Feb 18, 2008 12:25 PM

Most of us are thinking that the burden of captaincy is taking a toll on Ponting's individual batting performance.
Some may say his golden days and great form is over. But let me remind you, my friends, he is a class act and a player of Big Games.
As Australia has almost secured a birth in the Final of CB Series, Ponting is all set to snatch the Trophy single handedly.
In those two Finals, he will show his Mettle, Character and Class. So be ready fire the fireworks from one the greatest Australian Captain and Batsman.

Narayanan.
People are critics of Ponting the batsman - averaging less than 10 in this series.
And after viewing his batting statistics they are speaking up.
You are free to defend his results. Same was the case with Ganguly too - remember? He was quite all right as a captain, but a certain Aussie took to hammering him on his batting performance and managed to drive him out of the team.
There is no right or wrong here. Just comments on his batting, and Gilly defending him on his batting saying exactly the things you are saying viz. the captaincy pressures are taking a toll on his batting.

Your analogy with Ganguly is perfect. But Aussis protect their players. He will never have to walk through fire, get schorced and keep a straight face like Ganguly.

Yeah. And also thank god VRV Singh, Nehra, Zaheer, RP Singh etc. did not play; else Ishant wouldn't have been found.
All the above named (plus Irfan) were sensations of their times. So lets see, how long Ishant stays there. Though he has that something which we have witnessed after a long time since Kapil.
But lets see.

abt free hit rule.
by godzila on Feb 17, 2008 10:48 AM

after a no ball, a free hit is given to the batsman. but suppose, a boler bowls second cosecutive no ball, then next delivery is again a free hit. this happened in ind's previous game in boling of ishant.
Here for the 2 no balls bowled by him, only one free hit is enjoyed by the batsmn, which wud hv been 2 free hits had the no balls werent bowled consecutively. thus first free hit is vanished in that consecutive noball.

any comments abt the rules or complexity of the rules in this regard.....

Therefore we should soon see Sreesanth, Harbajhan and about half of the Indian team erupt into flames at any moment.
