Ganguly decision to retire
by Mohammed Zayaul Haque on Feb 21, 2008 07:50 PM

tiger of bengal is all time good batsman, it is not justified to drop him from indias squad for triangular series in austrailia. he could be better than sahwag in this series. his decision to retire from onedayer is the symbol of frustration, no player can tolerate exculsion when he is in a very good form. he has been batting well for last one year. he should reconsider on his decision.

Good riddance!! His contribution in 2007 at best could be described as, "Hey Captain and Selectors, tell you what, you can't drop me."

Dada's great performance
by Kaushik Pal on Feb 18, 2008 08:49 PM  | Hide replies

The performance of Dada after he came back has put to shame all other batsmen of the country and I am happy he is the first Indian to retire in sublime form (arguably the best in 2007 by any batsman in both forms of the game specially in ODI's after opening in difficult pitches of SA, Ireland, England and bowling well through sheer hard work for the country as the allrounder while Irfan was out of form) while many others greats in India retire after being a burden to the team. We Indians are not fit to salute the greatest gentleman cricketer but I think the salute he got from Greme Smith, Allan Donald, Steve Waugh, Ponting, Brett Lee and Adam Gilchrist (the greatest gentleman in modern day cricket) said it all. To be recognised by the best in the world outside is really the truth. My heart goes to the mild mannered Laxman too, who like Dada may not have matched the averages of some others who will never retire but proved that he was the classiest of them all. The performance of VVS was indeed sublime. Bad luck buddies for you were born in India.

Considered? what for you are waiting? Please go and retire.

Instead of giving interviews to Bong Journo on Times Now with favoured chubby cheek noisy bong analyst Boria Bistar Mojumdar.

every mad bong fan of Dada writes "btw I am from south" as his case has no material. That is not new. Arnab Goswami of Times Now Boria Bistar Mojumdar who was reported as have got from Dalmiya / BCCI 60 lacs for writing his version of Indian Cricket History . Blessed by Dada.
This is clear I scratch your back you scratch mine case.

Dada plays fast to score before pacers peep in in Tests gathers 30-30 runs.

and in ODI super slow snail speed runs poor fielding poor running between wickets and lot of politics and show biz.

Sanjay dnt talk shit.Dada was slow in past but not now.He has again proved himself. Now what you want from him.Can we relay on Dhoni young Brigade, the form with they are playing in Australia. They cant not score 204 Runs.If Dada and Laxam would have been in team the team's form would have been the best.So dnt talk nonsense.

Good decision
by BMukh on Feb 18, 2008 02:19 PM

I think thats the right decision by Dada! Ever since the one bouncer per over rule in ODIs (last 4 years) has come, Dada has found it dificilt to manufacture shots/runs off them! However, in Test matches he just lets them go and has been a huge success I do think he is never half as effective an ODI batsmen as he was. Instead, if he concentrates on Tests, he will have another good 2-3 years atleast!

So good luck dada, go gracefully

Yes, Ganguly / Lakshman is necessary.
by aji george on Feb 17, 2008 07:31 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, i was also thinking that India can go and win matches big without somebody with experience like Ganguly or Dravid, but if yiu can see the matches , India is not having one batsman, whom it can rely on, for batting under pressure, and who has good techniques . Yes, India wants somebody like Ganguly or lakshman, who will be a spine. India's bowling is super better than any team in the world, but the stability in batting , is costing very much. Rohit sharma, and Tiwari can play in other spots, other than this particular Batsman Slot, where you need an experienced player, be it Ganguly or VVS Lakshman.

India needs a coach more than anything. after John wright India did not have a coach. Mr. Greg Chappal undid what ever good was done by John Wright. That is the whole problem . It is not because of absence of Dravid or Ganguli. Life should go on but coach is needed.
