BCCI's cunning plan?
by Super User on Feb 13, 2008 06:39 PM  | Hide replies

I feel it is BCCI's cunning plan to have a few international players join ICL. That way they will be disqualified to play for the national team, which means India can beat them comfortably in tests and ODIs.

Brett Lee, Hayden, Symonds, I suggest you too join ICL ;-)

ICL vs IPL. Why not?
by on Feb 13, 2008 04:59 PM  | Hide replies

I think Indian cricket should think in terms of having a "Super Bowl" of 20/20 cricket. The winners of ICL leaague should play the IPL winner for the this cup. The best Indian players from these teams go into National team and make our "Dream team ". Why is that not possible? This way more domestic players get exposure and we can choose the cream as INDIAN team.

What you're proposing will make the "babu"s in BCCI redundant... for a cricket fan like me, that will be a great news though...

ICL might leave BCCI behind in bench strength...then WHAT???
by Mike Behrenger on Feb 13, 2008 12:58 PM

What would BCCI do when it finds out that the crop of youngsters playing in ICL from INDIA are far better and superior than their own bench strength for Team India? Ofcourse they will approach those players and tie a knot somewhere...!!! I mean only an IDIOT like SHARAD PAWAR can oppose such a thing. ICL cannot be a BCCI can it? So what is BCCI worried about? They should tie hands with ICL and let ICL run the 20/20 show and produce players of immense class. Those players should then be deployed into international arena by BCCI. In an ideal world, thats what we expect to see...but ofcourse this is ghor kalyug.

IPL is just a move by BCCI to soften the stand of ICL. BCCI is being STUPID here, it wants all the money there is for itself. The question for Mr. Powar though is when ZEE will run their own channel and get sponsorships, how will BCCI oppose that? I mean its hard to see them running a similar exercisei n parallel all year round. They might aswell tie up with ICL and lift all their bans. Its going to be so fruitful for INDIAN Cricket!! But obviously in this very case, BCCI is not bothered about INDIAN Cricket but their Bank balance!!! LOSERS!!

Absouletly correct the fundamental difference is that people handling ICL are ex players and they understand cricket, not like the stupid politicians in IPL for whom this is a source to make black money white.
The idiot Rajiv Shukla who comes every now and then in TV what does he know about cricket has any of his ancestors ever played cricket i wonder.
And if IPL had the guts why did not they think of making the Ranji Trophy open and pump in all the money which they plan for IPL.
This is hypocrisy and I am not a law person i wonder why should the current team be known as Team India becoz when it comes to court matters BCCI says that they are a independent body so why they use the name India.
I think ICL should launch a team like team India and pool all the Pakistani players with the name as Team Pakistan, Team New Zealand.
All the best for ICL may god be with them. Let it rise Kapil you are a fighter keep up the spirit.
File cases against BCCI for not allowing to use the cricket stands as they are govt properties and hence it is not BCCI members fathers right to use them and not let others use it.
