PARTNER FOR SEHWAG AGAINST SOUTHAFRICANS AS OPENER
by sajin mv on Feb 13, 2008 09:01 AM  | Hide replies

I have been closely observing Ajinkiya Rahane, the Mumbai opener, for th spot of Indian Test opener since his debut quite few months ago with a century against karachi urbans. His batting average looks fine, but, i wish to see how he will bat against good teams which he has proving now. I have never seen his batting but believes and depicts his scores that he is a good batsmen with ample techniques for a class player. Give him a chance when South African will tour in next month and better to first include in A team. Since we are lacking good openers in our team, his chances looks much better. Jaffer needs rest as he was complete failure in Australia, we want openers who can adapt to any conditions. Dinesh Karthick was susceptible against fast bowlers. so, start building a test team now when the golden 5 will leave the scene, we should not come down.

yes agreed. also is the prolific scorer like cheteshwar pujara in the team who has scored heavily in this domestic season. i hv seen him become the man of the series in the junior world cup n scoring match saving centuries for his team. good youngsters to b given chance against visiting teams.
