Bhasmasur Skunk
by Indian on Feb 14, 2008 10:16 AM  | Hide replies

This Bhasmasur has ruined this board by stealling other people's ID. This moron steals everyone's id who differ from him. He stoll mine and lots of other people's.

Don't get him confused with Aussie Doogie, as this Bhasmasur is one Desi ass, who speaks Hindi very well...

Now, he has stollen Ritwik's ID, as Ritwik is known to be die hard Tendulker fan...

No one has stolen my Id nor my bank account. Its some other imposers on this boards who would want the real facts to get buried under the earth and glitter with farcical facts which is of no use to team india.

There is nothing called a die-hard fan. And why the he!! should i be a tenDULLkar fan worth nothing on it.

Comeon guys we could get well and establish that the statisticians are worth a drivel and nothing more. Particularly none has bothered me to answer the heroic(???) innings of tenDULLkar (if at all any) in saving India chasing 300 plus totals against big teams..... I bet there would be a big ZERO.

Indian Selectors ingoring Yound players
by Avi J on Feb 14, 2008 03:29 AM

I don't know what the selectors are doing. Some of the young players have been completely ignored. I think they should at least be given a chance in a few games to represent the country.
Shikhar Dhawan
Cheteshwar Pujara

India's Loss
by on Feb 13, 2008 10:51 PM

Uthappa has not had a bat and is a waste in the number 7or 8 position. Sending Rohit Sharma early up in the order was also a mistake. Sure he recovered from his poor run rate start but if that chance was given to Uthapa or Yuvraj the Indian total could have easily been in the 220-250 range. 190 odd runs in 21 overs is not enough when you consider the depth of the sri lankan batting side. They came out with guns blazing and the indian bowling let us down. Please drop Sreesanth. he is all talk. I remember him recently making a comment about how Australian's should beware that he is coming. Well nobody even noticed he was there. Please drop him and bring Agarkar in his place who atleast swings the ball at the same pace.

inconsistant performance
by Lucky on Feb 13, 2008 12:02 PM

Yuvi, shewag, robin & shrisanth are very inconsistant and non-reliable players. No team can bank upon their contribution and this has always turned us down. They may click in one out to 5-10 matches and then just freak around.
this will definaletly be very costly even in future

NEW TRICK
by kkeevviinn on Feb 13, 2008 10:31 AM

It's nothing other than Sri lankan's applying a new trick of opening with Dilshan. Dilshan was one player in the team who was over looked at most of the time and when it comes to his turn of batting most of the time the script of of the result of the match is already wriiten on the wall. So he was very rearly playing his natural game and has to adjust according to the situation requirement.
This is a very good tactic that might work even against Austrailia and might give a new opening for the whole team and it allows Sri Lanka to play an additional all rounder like Kulasekara.
WELL THOUGHT OF AND KEEP IT UP.
IS IT RANATHUNGA BEHIND THIS???????????? THEN IT'S A WARNING FOR ALL THE OTHER TEAMS. "OLD FOX" IS BACK. BEAWEAR.

Why India Lost...!!!!
by bhanu prakash on Feb 12, 2008 11:32 PM | Hide replies

indians now a days are also doing good job in the field..they made a good score today..if not so good but atleast competitive enough...
The reasons we lost today are :
03 overs of sreesanth costs 48 runs
19 Extras in a total of 154
Which leaves effectively 87 to be scored in 18 overs and i think Duleep Trophy's worst team even would have made it...instead of srilanka..so who are you blaming Mr.Dhoni..and u praise the bowling was not so bad today..hahahaha better be a captain of circus team ..logo ko hasane k kaam toh aaoge

Stupid statement by Dhoni!
by JM on Feb 13, 2008 04:49 AM

Dhoni and co for some reason saved wickets instead of starting to blast-away earlier and trying to get a score of 215-220 (7.5 runs per over)

The loss was a miscalculation by Indians on the number of runs needed to win. Rain hardly played any part in SL's win.

Better team won
by Susobhan Ghosh on Feb 12, 2008 07:08 PM  | Hide replies

India did produce a superb game with each one of the players contributing. But on the day, Sri Lanka was a better team, and won.

What could India do differently. May be Gambhir/ rohit could have more aggressive when they were batting together because we still had Uthappa, Yuvi, Dhoni, Pathan in the waiting. Uthappa should be a good good player because he opened for India before, and he can bat at No. 3, 4 or 5; coming at no. 8 may have done justice to him. But he should not be happy, this way his longevity increases because hed did not have to go through the test of producing run.

Also indiamust put forward a balancede team... they need another allrounder to bat at no. 8 with Uthappa opening istead of sehwag. Having an alrounder will give us a better no.5 bowler. At the moment Tendulkar & Sehwag are giving away too many runs

India lost because of Sreesanth's wayward bowling. He was bowling to Jayasuriya's strengths. When Ishant Sharma can bowl so well consistently why can't Sreesanth? He is totally inconsistent and gets carried away. His overall economy rate is around 5.9 which is way too high.

Quite right. Sreesanth is a gamble. Sometimes he is good, sometimes he is downright terrible.
For that matter Sehwag, Yuvraj, Uttappa are the same. All gambles.
I suggest that Uttappa be sent to open the innings. He is wasted at number 7. At the opening he can make a huge total or none at all. At least 50% of the time he may click. India needs to take a gamble and send him in to intimidate the bowlers. If it does not work, the rest of the team can pick up from there. Sachin needs to play a controlled knock. Yuvi needs to get some net practice. He seems to be giving catch practice to the opposition.

The Indian bowling as per the cricinfo statistics is the worst attack. Even worse than Zimbabwe in oversees conditions. All of our bowlers must get healthier and try to get some variation in their bowling. They are becoming too predictable. I haven't seen very good change of pace by any of our bowlers. Even when they change the pace the opposition knows about it.

really shewag, yuvi, uttapha and shreesanth are real blind gamble. they may or may not click.
and the same will cost a match.
we should hav more reliable & consistant players in our side who can be banked upon.

right ..
by Shakti on Feb 12, 2008 04:52 PM  | Hide replies

That is correct, they would have chased 195 as well..40 runs in 8 overs is not a big task if you have so many wickets in hand. Also there was no way their approach was going to change if it was a 21 overs match or 29.

Yes ... Dhoni should realise that it is good to engage in positive talk to keep team morale high... but the fact is he should give credit where it is due... India just did not succeed in defending their total .. the Sri lankans were willing to take more risks and the better team today.. they would have won even in 29 over match .... hope India tighten up for the next match,,...Romesh
