this just proves that money matters much more than playing for one's own county/country. let me clarify that this is perfectly acceptable. iam not against this & if i were a cricketer, i too would have done the same...the only point i want to make is that all cricketers should stop being hypocritical and saying that playing for country is the ultimate honour etc.etc...money talks baby!!!
Its amazing that many foreigners are attracted to India for making money. a good beginning. this used to happen with whatever USA used to do. But be careful. slowly our jobs will be going to aussies, british and others. more competition is coming.
players signing up for IPL will play only for a shot period in IPL since it is 20/20 tournament or series which could be max of 20-30 days of play time in a year. I can't understand how the counties are going to suffer due to this. The scenario is same is indian IT pros who went to whereever there was opportunity and money in general.
If Im not mistaken, there is a ceiling on how many foreign players can a team in IPL have. But reading these reports, it looks like all players in Australia, SA, England, Pakistan etc are approached for IPL. If this is not true how can a few players being signed for IPL affect English county cricket?
Its time that we start ruling other countries now. Look at UK.. we are buying many of their companies. Corus.. Jaguar (almost). Now, let ECB suffer losses..
We have the cricket crazy fans here and so, we have the cricketing money here. Hell with Englsih Cricket Board and its counties.

Why should we make anybody our slaves? Did we not have a 150 yr struggle to get rid of slavery? What is the point in then doing the sme thing our fore-fathers opposed and gave their lives?
