Straight 20-20 for any 50 Overs rain hit match
by Tamil Selvan on Feb 15, 2008 07:28 PM

Any Rain-hit 50 over match should immediately be turned to 20-20 match without any hesitation and further hinderance may result in cancellation

Harsh Kothari
My POV
by Harsh Kothari on Feb 15, 2008 07:20 AM

I agree with some of you on this board, our bowlers were not at par to what was needed to win the game. Though I also agree with Dhoni to a high extent, that being a 21 over game could be played much differently to a 29 over game. History has shown that one or two wickets make a HUGE difference in a cricket match. In this case, if Sri Lanka had to make 196 runs to win off 29 overs, then they would have had to make sure that they slow retain wickets for the first 8 overs or so, then would have steeped up, and within that time, INDIA too would have gotten more overs to be able to get more wickets and hence get a better chance. I am not saying that any one specific team would've lost or won, but I take the view that it would have been a fair game had each team played equal number of overs (because INDIA played an ODI and SL played a Twenty20 if you think about it). So all I ask is the ICC to create more fair rules in order to facilitate a FAIR cricketing outcome. Overall, I feel that INDIA is a capable team of winning the series and GOOD LUCK to them! Likewise the other two teams are quite good too, but my loyalty remains with the INDIAN team. JAI HIND!! VANDE MATARAM!! Peace.

This Bhasmasur has ruined this board by stealling other people's ID. This moron steals everyone's id who differ from him. He stoll mine and lots of other people's.

Don't get him confused with Aussie Doogie, as this Bhasmasur is one Desi ass, who speaks Hindi very well...

Now, he has stollen Ritwik's ID, as Ritwik is known to be die hard Tendulker fan...

No one has stolen my Id nor my bank account. Its some other imposers on this boards who would want the real facts to get buried under the earth and glitter with farcical facts which is of no use to team india.

There is nothing called a die-hard fan. And why the he!! should i be a tenDULLkar fan worth nothing on it.

Comeon guys we could get well and establish that the statisticians are worth a drivel and nothing more. Particularly none has bothered me to answer the heroic(???) innings of tenDULLkar (if at all any) in saving India chasing 300 plus totals against big teams..... I bet there would be a big ZERO.

Indian Selectors ingoring Yound players
by Avi J on Feb 14, 2008 03:29 AM

I don't know what the selectors are doing. Some of the young players have been completely ignored. I think they should at least be given a chance in a few games to represent the country.
Shikhar Dhawan
Cheteshwar Pujara

Reason for the next defete.

According to Dhoni the reason for next D/N match defete is playing at night.
So Dhoni wish to blame the dark outside the ground at the post match interview.

India lost because of Dhoni. He should have sent Robin after losing Gautam.
There were only 9 overs left and Robit is a far better hitter than Dhoni.
That idiot just made 31 from 26 balls.

You don't have to cum, you are already adjudged the best captain of India ever produced. Spare the Biharibabu (now may claim jharkhandi) aside.

Who are you for the job? Every game is to be played in the spirit of the game. Let the better team win the match. This is what happened yesterday. Sri Lanka played better cricket and they were desperate to win and they won handsomely.
Let us accept it graceously.

Why India Lost...!!!!
by bhanu prakash on Feb 12, 2008 11:32 PM
indians now a days are also doing good job in the field..they made a good score today..if not so good but atleast competitive enough...
The reasons we lost today are :
03 overs of sreesanth costs 48 runs
19 Extras in a total of 154
Which leaves effectively 87 to be scored in 18 overs and i think Duleep Trophy's worst team even would have made it...instead of srilanka..so who are you blaming Mr.Dhoni..and u praise the bowling was not so bad today..hahahaha better be a captain of circus team ..logo ko hasane k kaam toh aaoge

D/L method
by fellowgoodie on Feb 13, 2008 03:55 AM  | Hide replies

Guyz, one thing I dont understand and which I think is unfair in rain curtailed matches is that, dont you think India would have scored more than 154 in 21 overs, had they known that it would only be 21 over to play for as they will have 10 wickets in had. They played a bit carefully, coz it is 29 overs. I think one team will always be at receiving end, in these rain-curtailed matches. Dont you agree?
After all,who can forget the 21 runs in 1 ball farce that happened in 92 world cup.

I perfectly agree fellowgoodie. You are right baout the rain curtailed matches. This whole Duckworth Lewis method is cuckoo....it sucks so badly man. I don't know how the people are sticking with it in the ICC!!! Its amazing....

then D/L method was not in account. 92 WC had weird rule, only the non-socring balls would be ommitted. Whereas D/L method is more statistical and mathematical. Targets are defined by number of wickets and playable overs.

Btw, 154 in 21 overs is more asking rate than 195 in 29. Dhoni only knows how to blame. After the Twenty20 debacle, he accused the batters, now the weather. Had it not rained India would have lost the other two. God was gracious to them.
