Aussie tactics of playing with ur mind
by Ridhdhish Amin on Feb 11, 2008 09:09 PM

Well this is nothing but that. Ishant is good - but its too early for Fleming to come out and say he will be better than Lee. All they are doing is boosting up the famous Indian ego. Watch out next match - wont be surprised if the poor lad goes for 50-60 for his 10 overs.
Not that he is a bad bowler - but just too inexperienced to be exploited by the Aussies. They are not ones who shower such profuse praise on opponents in the middle of a series - not unless they have an ulterior motive.

ishant is just a regular bowler.he cant bowl the main outswinging delivery to the right handed batsman, which is where real talent in bowling exists. at the end of a few series he is going to be a needle in the hay.

i sincerely feel that as of now there is no need for ishant to develop that outswinger. we dont want him to lose his strngth just to add variety. remember kapil dev hurt his outswinging capabilies when he tries to add that inswinging delivery

ur right he should use his stock delivery mainly
he has a lot of time to learn everything else
McGrath developed his slower ball after 4 years in international cricket

Sharmas
by Kishore Lalwani on Feb 11, 2008 04:08 PM  | Hide replies

It was Sharmas (Ishant & Rohit) who paved a way to victory.

Ofcourse we cannot miss Tendulkar (The worlds top and best ever batsman) for his 44 runs contribution.

But overall the MCG win belongs to Sharmas.

Comeon guys your opinion.

We must consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have a surfeit of medium/fast bowlers of international standards performing quite well.We need to manage them properly by giving proper training and rest with a well thought out policy of rotation to preserve them and not allow them to burn out and fade away quickly like Nehra and Balaji.Similarly we need to select, nurture and preserve young quality batsmen, spinners and all rounders. With the kind of money being generated in the country for cricket we MUST become and ideal World leaders in all aspects of the game.Management, facilities, conduct of tournaments, formulation of rules and regulations and producing unbeatable World Champions in all forms of cricket. An extremely difficult dream to realise but possible all the same.

We do need foreign coaches - to bring in new ideas, challenge our players and most of all treat them like their wards irrespective of their star-status and the BCCI politics.

Think about it, just as an example, if Zaheer were very close to Sharad Pawar and he refuses to listen to Prasad. What can Prasad do? A foreign coach will confront and kick his ass!

Also Indian coaches are products of our system - and come on boys we need that to improve right? Prasad was a good swing bowler and he is doing a great job teaching our pacers the art of swting (as evident in Perth for e.g.) However, he himself lost fitness and pace so fast when he was in the team - he was bowling slower than Kumble at times. Do you expect him to coach the fast bowlers on how to be super fit or which muscle-groups to work out?

And most of all - foriegn coaches bring a lot of fresh ideas and new techniques/technology to help us fine-tune the small things.
We will have world-class coaches in another decade - I would say. But the BCCI politicians will remain the same - Alas!!

So Mr. Ponting You have realised that Ishant Sharma is a dangerous bowler
by Prodipto Ghosh on Feb 11, 2008 03:24 PM  | Hide replies

Its good to know that atleast you have praised our young and talented bowler Ishant sharma, Mr. Ponting.Normally you have such an proffessional attitude that in recent times you have just fforgotten to praise anybody from the opposition. Actually Mr. Ponting cricket is a gentleman's game....you should also behave like a gentleman in future.

I remember Shane Warne having scary dreams about Sachin beating all his balls for boundries. Its not far time when Ponting will have these dreams of getting out badly by this young man only if he (Ishant) maintains his form.

Well said, Sashi.....Sachin is not a walker by any stretch of the imagination and we tend to ovelook this kind of flaw in our heroes....The fact of the matter is that we whine like crazy when we are unable to compete and have selective amnesia when it suits us.

many times sachin has been wrongly given out (more then 19-20 times, and four to five times in 90 ). what's wrong if he waits for few favouralbe decisions. he was given out LBW by stupid bucknor when the ball had hit his helmet...now what do you say for that.
Dont try to be hippocratic

inexperience
by anand kumar on Feb 11, 2008 02:20 PM  | Hide replies

everyone forgets just one thing in the wake of victory. that is experienced players. we have only two experienced players in sachin and sehwag. if sachin was given out then i am sure these so called younger bunch would have fallen like playing cards. gambhir has the tendency of regularly going for his drives and flashing outside off stump more often. as far as sehwag is concerned, no one knows when he plays and when he vanishes. yuvi is not in good form, tiwari will not be given a chance again. praveen will sit out through this tour. imagine one more experienced cricketer in the middle in yesterday game. at the fall of 5th wicket every indian cricket fan was tense. at least one out of dravid, lakshman, ganguly would have been a better chance. what say?

We should not underestimate our victory and the younger players who in any case will have to share the burden in the World Cup 2011.Having said that I agree that Ganguly with his current form and his skill as a one day player should have been there in the Team in the Current Tour at least, perhaps even as the Captain.

This is height of stupidity.
- Does Ronaldo speak English?
- Do they speak English in French Open Tennis?
- Do any of the South American footballers speak English.

So, dear Gandgoolee ... you are nothing but a white skin worshipper and you will fall at the feat of any goora or someone who speak forgein accent.

Ishanth should take care of his fitness and Bowl well.. who cares if he knows english or not.
