The way they have gone about selling things - like teams sold out to film stars Sharukh, Preti Zinta, Business tycoons Like Ambani, Mallys and they way they are auctioning Dhoni and stars, They are over selling things. Over selling some times looks ugly and I am afraid IPL has done exactly that. This may reduce the public interst and may kill both ICL and IPL.
Who will watch Mumbai VS Kolkata? i will support Sourav or Tendulkar but how about Monkey or Gilli? Indian people watch cricket for Team India not for State or State Capital...

it will be a gr8 fun new boys will have chance to show there ablity in cricket. It will be like EPL
IPL is going to be a very very big flop of the century..After this no business man will invest money in cricket. Reason. 1.Cricket between countries will only fetch intrest for fans and not these players representing some states(esp only if india is playing). 2.The participation of Australian players ia really going to be a big ??? 3.Already the ICC FTP is too heavy that players can never have any break from cricket.Either they can only play IPL or their cricket teams..so the future of cricket is in jeopardy becoz of IPL. 4.It is going to be telecasted in sony tv.It shows IPL is a very big flop event.

It will not be a flop. It will be a biggest hit. According to the point 1 as OP (Original Poster), Cricket fetches interest only when it played between countries and not between states. But it is evident from this rediff forum, everyone are furious and non tolerant towards the other states and they always talk about North/South/East/West. So this will definitely add the fuel to rivalry between the IPL teams to get the IPL success. Discuss more @ IPLFans.

Still I am not clear. Is IPL organizing this event to find future masters? Or Is this a complete entertainment money making business?
Our Indian players are currently making lots of money and many of them are not so serious for their play and game plans. Now IPL announced Millions. So these money making things will directly affect Indian and world cricket.
One of the IPL Policy is, the person who has resigned from international cricket before 2 years, can only join League. BUT for Gilchrist, they will change the rule.
WHY?
We are agreeing that businessman%u2019s has Bid a Lot for these matches, they are here to make money but IPL also need to save the standards.
They can't have even a simple website,Indian cricket still uses rope for mopping and Sahs and Pawars pockets crores of rupees. Why on earth ,they are not improving infrastructure .There is no drainage systems ,no proper seats,no caretakers for pitch ,India sucksss big time.

I agree with you my friend,... These shahs,Pawars mostly interested in Money ,& convert Indian cricket into a Casino or Jokers of circus for the sake of money. They care a hoot about Indian cricket, work like a lobby and abuse Indian cricketers by bringing in people like Greg chappel,Kiran more ..to break the Indian cricket players and the team. They are far more parochial & worse than apperthied system. These fellows show that they were fighting racialism issue. It is like Dr Amit of kidney racket claiming to treat kidney disease of the patient & in fact it is removing their kidney. BCCI is like that.. a cartel full of scoundrels ,cheat ..just like Kidney racket.. Indian public is always silent
