Bongs are not in tune with prsent day India!!!!! forget to bask in past glory!!!!!
by S Narain on Feb 08, 2008 12:48 PM  | Hide replies

Bongs have great heros & patriots in past, some in present .
They also have so much talent in all all walks of life however they have failed to materialise because.
1. Very poor & retrograde Political system of
leftist ideology .
2.Bongs mind is not in tune with Indian mind,
They should learn somethings from business community like Marwaris of Kolkata and not live on past glory but learn to work hard.

I also feel that Bongs are not aware how BCCI works, for example
It has Ranjit Biswal from east Zone who is a sycophant of BCCI.
BCCI is conglomeration of where power is weilded by a cartel of few individuals comprising of greedy politicians, businessman & sycophants..
In this lobby only shrewed businessman & cunning politician can succeed ,not present CAB president is not like Dalmiya who was having all the guile of shrewed & corrupt politician.
Bongs are hardly possessing the hold neither in BCCI nor in UPA politics where they are supporting congress led govt.

Bongs are playing second fiddle to congress and also within left ,non bongs like Karat & Yechury are calling the shots.
Leftist government were bullied by fundamentalists on Taslima issue & had to call the army to control the fundamentalist who were burning Kolkata.
This they get for protecting & supporting minorities and always criticising Modi in favour of minorities rights.Bongs can not protect themselves & take up useless issues which not many Indians care....
Hence Bongs are completely out of tune with present day India!!!!

Among the batsmen only Badrinath deserves a place and also immediately to verify his ability to face international matches consistently. He has already done this when he toured Australia with India A team. This cannot be said about other players whether bowler or batsman who has also gone abroad.

south selection is biased:
by star buck on Feb 06, 2008 06:02 PM  | Hide replies

South team selection is a shocker. Except Badrinath there is no batsman who can be selected. How can one select tadav who hardly performed. Good karnataka batsmen like chandrashekhar raghu and tilak naydu have been ignored and reslt is there for everybody to see.

South Selection..... intresting u speak of raghu and tilak . If u r avid cricket fan u would remeber a youngester gaurav dhiman who played for the u-19 twice. An awesome striker of the ball and someone who opens the batting and also the bowling. While a talent like this cant make to our ranji team in front of grandpa sunil joshi and the likes, u call the south zone selection biased while the states selections itself are rigged how do u except the zonals to be better...

Good Job By EastZone
by jitendra das on Feb 06, 2008 05:56 PM  | Hide replies

India selectors should look at the EAST zone Players. They are regularly performong well and our respected selectors are regularly ommitting those players as if they are not at all come into consideration.
For example take a case of orissa team, Haldhar Das has performing really well still he is not getting a single chance.
I think that is beacause orissa team doesn't have any seniopr player as a selector.

Please don't issue a statement like this again. Sourav's contribution to Indian Cricket is huge and as a player he is a class by himself. Yes East Zone players are getting a raw deal. Consider Ranadeb Bose, SS Paul, Deep Dasgupta, SS Das, Debasis Mohanty all are match winners but they were left off or not selected without proper resoning. I feel Digital Global is from Mumbai where monsters like Raj Thackrey are treated as demi god. We can definetely expect statements like these from nonsense people like him. So carry on my dear friend.

There is strong lobby in BCCI for sure but after 2000 ,when Sourav had become Captain ..players like Shiv Sunder Das,
D Mohanty ,Dhoni all from small towns made it to Indian team as he was able to break the hegemony of Mumbai lobby..as he always believed in all India team based on merit & not any lobby
For,this reason Sourav is out of favour from Mumbai lobby & was stabbed in the back by BCCI with help of Greg Chapple& More Duo..
This time BCCI has used Dhoni to stab Sourav who was supporter of Dhoni for inclusion in the team in the first place..
So U can not rule out small town boys after 2000,before that it was not possible
