Lucky escape for Aussie cheats
by Sunil Dharam on Feb 05, 2008 05:14 PM

Aussie cheats escaped a slaughter at the hands of indians in this match. This young indian team has what it takes to defeat the australians not only in this VB-sereis but consistently in the future too. Kudos to Indian team!!

doesn't matter, at least Dhoni is giving the youngsters a chance. I think playing Tiwary was a very good idea, hope they play him through the series, he is probably India's best batsman after Tendulkar. he is going to be the next big thing in world cricket.

Hi chris:
Absolutely right mate.. We all will watch the series. But with one exception. We will let the games go on and let the results come before commenting on "India thrashed" or not. :-)
If I were to believe you before Gabba, Aus should be 1-0 up with 4 points.. which they are not.. its 2 points each. Maybe if you read the news you will come to know of it.
But never mind, we will wait and watch whether you make your subsequent comments through the roof of your mouth, or do you wait and watch the news yourself before making further comments.
Cheers!

If But This could be, probably....these words dont work in real life including cricket

If Mike procter would have given proper judgement in oval....Pakistan wud have easily beaten England

If Mike procter and Buckner would have cheated in sydney....India wud have easily beaten Australia with series win 2 - 1

Hope u will b agree with me bcoz your dish offered to you without any change.....lol

Come On GUYS!!!
by ram on Feb 04, 2008 01:46 PM

Hey, guys, come on! Don't degrade any cricket players, they have come up to this level with some potential and performances, though i'm not completely ignoring the influence by state-cricket-boards! They do have talents, but need to be tested out against the weak sides like(ZIM/BANGLADESH or sub-continent teams) in the away series & some lively piches before exposing them to the mighty teams like AUS/SA in their own den..
We should also support our youngsters because, they only made world champ AUS realised themselves that they can be BEATEN..
So, let's enjoy the good cricket played by all three teams in this AUS-Summer!!

I post messages regularly on the rediff message boards, but sometimes I find messages asking why women take interest in cricket. To those people, I would like to tell that, I am an avid cricket fan and have been following Indian cricket right from 1969, when I was college student and I have a good knowledge of cricket. You can also view my message under the caption %u201C Thank You All %u201C on the write up %u201CYoung Guns Ready To Fire In ODIS%u201D dated 2nd Feb and that will give you an idea of my interest in the game. I have seen India%u2019s ups and downs in cricket over the years but we never were so vehement and severe in our criticisms whenever India faired poorly because cricket was treated as any other sports in those days. Of course we used to discuss at the end of the day, what went wrong or how the player could have played etc but we will leave it at that.
I read many messages severely criticizing the young ODI team.Though ,I always try to write unbiased views, sometimes, the rediff fever catches up with me and I also post some views which may be biased. .But I decided not to do anymore.
We have to understand the fact that this is the future Indian team and better accept the team and support them. We cannot expect miracle overnight and the youngsters need and should be given time to prove their potentials. The seniors cannot play forever and they may not be around for the next WC. So, in that context, it is better they are not selected for

I don't know why anyone should differentiate between male and female regarding love for cricket. I have 4 sisters who love criket. I don't see any abnormality about it. Though they have n't played cricket, they know a lot of stuff about cricket and they love following all the games. In fact, when I call them on phone, nearly 80 percent of the time, we talk about cricket and movies happily, instead of talking rubbish politics, family problems etc. And they really appreciate to hear my views as I played cricket at leauge level. Indira and Anu, just don't bother about those who criticize you becaue you are women. They are just ignorant egoists.

by bala kannan on Feb 04, 2008 01:22 PM  | Hide replies

gilchirist, pollock retire wen they can matches, these players far better than our indian olddies sachin(only playing himself),dravid (slow),dada(he doest nt know how to play in leg side) but these olddies dont retire.

any one can answer me, gilchrist can be equal to any indian batsman? . he hits century 100(70balls)in world cup final he retires ,but our oldie sachin hit zero in world cup preliminary rounnd but he will not retire,

The answer is quite simple, while there are players in Australia & other countries to replace them properly, we do not have proper replacements. So when ever we give chances to youngesters, they either under perform or do not perform at all. Therefore, one is not sure how to replace them. The day some good players come up and start performing, these seniors will retire on their own automatically!

ALL All of you suggesting that indian team depends on individuals, which is definite problem for india for long time...its team which matters, it really matters if all field well, all batters score around 30-40 and all bowlers bowl there heart out. That kind a team wins. sachin/dravid/ganguly never won us world cup or big tournaments reason is all three never fired together. If you see india won only those one days where more than 3 batsman fired..hope this justifies that sachin saurav does not matter..

Do we have any replacement for the likes of sachin and dada? Our so called young team, cant even last full overs. Forget about technique and talent. I feel ashamed when the team lose to australia in such embarrassing ways. You guys dont? Its outrageous judgement on the part of selectors to choose such a team to play in australia and in such situations.

I agree with you, nithin. I see many comments here saying senior players should retire. they will retire if we find someone who can be at least 50% of sachin, dravid or gaguly.

The reason for this is AUS/SA go by performance, not by their age/reputation like sub-continent teams!! But you can't compare like this, the in-born talent/heredity could also be one of the reasons..
Why japanese are good at electronics, why Americans are good at Basketball/Baseball, why brazil is good at football? There is beyond something all these!!

Are you a mad. They will not retire what will you do?. You just mind your own bussiness. Do you know cricket. They all have won us many games. Did you the young players performence against AUS. They are fearing to see lee running. They are utter waste. Tiwary was going for urin while lee coming with ball. They are only opt for domestic season especially indian pitches and the ball should not come to them more than 100kmph. Then they will score sixes and four. Even our captain and vise captain(Dhoni and yuvi) were not able face AUS bowling in tests. Only the experienced got runs for india. Even harbajan and kumble hit half centuries, why they(dhoni and yuvi) couldnt score. because they dont have the technic. They are blind hitters
