It would be unfair if we don't evaluate Uttapa and Dinesh karthik who have been given lot of chances more than the juniors.

Before Uttapa and Gambhir, I think Dhoni's place needs to be ebaluated. Lets see how this series goes, everything will be clearer after this series
Dhoni is good palayer; will come up once he gets experience. Old payers (Ganguly;10dukar;Dravid;shewag) have been playing without retiring ( like Gilchrist;M'grath;Warne;S.Waugh;Chappel brothers) for longest time; they want to play all the time & donot want youngers to get any chance. So we will be having vacuum for a long time once we remove these older lots. But no matter; time will come we will have best team in the world say within 5 years.

Mohammed Azharudin played upto 38 years, Lara played upto 38 yrs, Robin singh played, Rana tunga, Arvinda dsila played, why should not Rahul Dravid, Kumble, Ganguly must not play

Mind ur language friend. Do not make our national team so cheap. After all they represent all of us. We may critisise but not abuse.

tu dhobi tera asli baap dhobi
there were times in the 80s, when a batsman was considered good only when he performed well against wi in wi . otherwise, whatever his incredible performances against weaker teams may b, he wudnt b called a genuine good.
in this era, acid test for proving a batsman's calibre is playing ausi in ausi. dhobi with all his heroics against weaker teams n on flattest pitches, have failed in this acid test of playing ausi in ausi. so hats off to dhobi the gr8 batsman, so-called gilli of ind(!!!!!!!!).
RE:dhoni has failed in his test.

Basic problem in Dhoni is he was not told by our selectors that they consider him as hardhitter that is why he should play aggressive cricket and increase the rate. But Doni on the otherhand that as Captain he should be very careful not to throw his wicket and therefore bats like Dravid (minus form). If he show little aggession in batting we will get back our oldtime Dhoni who Pakistaani team ko do dala

the problem is not with Dhoni, its with the fans like u who thinks and talks in 2 ways having double standards. When he playes aggreesively and looses his wicket in this process, we criticise saying he is irresponsible and if he plays cautously , even we criticise him saying he plays like a dumb.
Let's leave to the individuals how to play and they r mature enough to play according to the siatuaiton.
Just sit and enjoy the game. Win and loose is the part and parcel of the game and failure in just 4 test matches and 1 20-20 game doesnt make Dhoni a bad player.
He has shwon signs of decent form, but like other players who is touring the Aus , he is not getting settled.

All of you Dhoni basher must remember how Dravid and Ganguly performed in 1999-00 series down under. In fact except Sachin no one has performed in his first series in Oz. Even mighty Sunny gavaskar and India's Mr. Cricket Sanjay Manjarekar failed miserably in their first series down under. So be patient and wait till next Dhoni tour to Australia. Dhoni has played some good little innings in the tests and made valuable partnerships on at least four occasions does it not call for a retrospection of his unfair criticism by all and sundry.
Wake Rediff newsmakers and editors. You are doing good job, but same time pay some attention to the grammer. Like Lina mentioned it is not the first time or else you will lose international readers.

Please read it again (the way it should be): Wake up, Rediff newsmakers & editors! You are doing a good job, but at the same time, pay some attention to the grammar. Like Lina mentioned, it is not the first time; or else, you will lose international readers.

Ms Evans It is good to correct rediff on grammatical errors but could you please use spell check??? It is GRAMMAR not GRAMMER... Moreover shouldn't it be "....rediff making grammatical mistakes" instead of "...rediff doing gramatical mistakes"...?? Again I must highlight the word GRAMMATICAL is spelt with a double M.. Regards Bobby

Thanks a lot, keeps observing. Others can improve their english without going to any class. Now we should do something for people who write their lingo in English. Totally confusing everyone.

Well done Bobby ! Quite rightly said. People should first concern themselves with the speck in their own eye instead of trying to remove the log from another's. learn, Lina, learn !

Hi Evan , I agree with you that rediff should not commit those mistakes .Bobby, I guess you are missing the the point Evan is trying to convey..I guess you argued just because u had to .It is very important to use correct english in articles put by rediff because a lot of readers learn to read and write from these articles as well..

Oh, it is nice and refreshing to see people around who are good in the usage of Victorian English in this world of Hinglish people!
