amazing! this effort deserves much more!
by slash five on Jan 01, 2009 01:45 AM

stupendous effort by bangla batsmen!

so bangla is only stifled by their mental barrier. they are ready to chart a new course, but i guess it will happen with youngsters who are not encumbered by past baggage.

the tamilians are against the sinhalese for decades.the srilankan team will get the maximum security while they r playing in chennai. so its surprising to see someone praising srilankan team on behalf of dravidians.cricket is just a stupid game and has spoiled the sportsmanship in our country.the way harbhajan was supported by the indian media and surfers was sickening and unsporting.its nice to see the bangladesh scoring 421 in the fourth inn ings and south africa winning against australia.its normal for humanbeings to support the underdogs but something inhuman is there when a neutral person(who doesnt belong to either country)pours venom on a nonexistent issue

CRICKET-CRICKET-CRICKET!!!!!!!!!!
by shyamal ghoshroy on Dec 31, 2008 06:00 PM

All sorts of cricket magic are happening these days. After India and South Africa, it's now so called minnows, although they missed an historic win. This is good for the game. The monopoly is no more there. I'm talking about Australia.Cricket is a team game, but instances are there when individual brilliance of a few players can make all the difference. Look at the present Australian Cricket team; how they are affected due to retirement of the fabulous three- Shane Warne, McGrawth and Adam Gilchrist! Very rarely they used to fail all at a time and that’s why Ausies were so invincible, until they got first jolt from India, followed by South Africa in the current series at their home soil. Whether Australia will also go the West Indies way (slump of winning form since mid 80’s), only time will tell. But this could be a lesson for the Indian think tank, who might be contemplating forced retirement of aged Sachin, Rahul and Laxman.

Well done Bangladesh

Well done Bangladesh! In the same situation Australia would have folded up for 170 & would start cribbing about the heat, mosquitoes, food, unruly crowd, bad pitch etc. etc. etc. :)

Yes, exactly. Bangladesh have played well beyond their own expectations. They deserve kudos. This is almost as good as a victory. This also exposes frailties in Sri lankan team

Making 400 against an attack that has Murali and Vaas is itself something big. Murali is a bowling machine perfected over years of experience and innovative bowling. He took 10 wickets and still these guys made 400 which means this team has real stuff. What is more, the Bangla score is the highest innings total!! How they will be ruing their poor performance in the first innings. It's better than a win, actually. It says very big things about their capacity if they get their act together to play as a team.
Is there infighting in Bangla team?
