Australia following India

Unfortunate.

In India, selectors and fans are generally emotional and root for their favourite players on past deeds rather than present form, fitness, keenness to win the matches for the team rather than a desire to create useless records for number of matches played, number of centuries scored etc.

Australia seems to be trapped in the same quagmire.

Shaun Marsh played brilliantly and consistently in the IPL tournament and also did well for Australia in the ODIs in WI.

Unless he is not fit, there is no logic in retaining Hayden at his cost.

If the brilliance of Shaun Marsh and patience of Simon Katich can give a bright and big start to the Aussies, there is always the possibility that the middle order comprising Ponting, Clarke, Hussey, Haddin etc. can put up a tall score and put pressure on SA, even with inexperienced bowlers.

CA is committing suicide by opting to retain Hayden. Perhaps they are expecting a miracle and Hayden to come up with a good score.

Time will say whether CA is right in this approach.

I am so happy to know that Aussies r struggling. All the name and fame they had was only due to Mcgrath and Warne. They retired and Aussies struggling, they cannot win agianst grt teams like India, SA, u never knows they might loose Bangladesh. The down fall has begun and is accelerating...

Good thing is they r giving chances to new talent, i guess my India too do this and bring youth talent, like pujara. I also wish BBCI to kill its monopoly and identify talent from ICL as well. After All Its Nations Pride and Indian emotion. BCCI cant do this to Indians, if they call their team as Team India.
