Pujara certainly deserves to play for India in all versions of the game. He can score runs quickly when needed. He has scored runs quickly many times. If Dravid could play in one day matches so can Pujara.
Like many Pujara is asking the same question. He managed a struggling 100 against a weak English attack. It time for him to go and let the younger folks take over.

If that was struggle then Gambir struggle too and guess what happened once they both got out... Mr.Zia you have always been critic of Dravid and worshipper of Ganguly.. End of the day they all are Indians..

I don't think he is going to hag on like Sachin Tendulkar.Dravid played for less years and scored more runs and we hopy he will retire very soon.
The mini-selectors on the rediff want to replace Dravid with an young guy that has scored one centruy in his last 10 outings. Pujara appears to be a good prospect. However, he is yet to be a consistant scorer, yet.
To replace dravid, u need to atleast be consistant in the domestic cricket and start scoring against top notch foriegn teams. To replace the great Dravid who can score in any part of the world and great attacks, he has to work on his cosnstancy and then some!

But it is not the same Dravid who scored all those runs for India until 2 years back. Dravid has completely lost his old batting form. He may have scored a century but he quickly followed it with a duck. Dravid whenever he comes out to bat struggles to score runs. It is not enough to just play out dot balls. Dravid is also dropping a lot of sitters these days. He used to be one of India's best slip fielders. Even against Saurashtra Dravid sruggled with his batting.

pujara the highest run getter in the junior world cup and awarded man of the series. pujara scorer of 3 triple centuries in 20 days. scorer of 3 consecutive centuries in ranji. n now played a characteristic knock of century scored on the last day pitch n to guide his team to victory chasing 325 runs n remaining unconquered. thats a lot to say.
its not question of replacing dravid. but its a question of selecting him in the team. y do u question on dravid only.

In your anxiety to defend the indefensible, you didn't even bother to read the full report above by rediff.
Please read the last line of the report which says:
"Pujara duly completed his eleventh first class hundred, and fifth in the season in eight matches, in the company of his captain Shah who adopted aggression from the first ball he faced to help his team canter home."
If you are unable to understand what the report says, I repeat:
PUJARA HAS MADE 5 CENTURIES IN 8 MATCHES IN THIS RANJI SEASON.
What more consistency you are talking about?
In fact this guy is not making centuries, he is making double and triple hundreds.
The selectors must have the guts to throw out Dravid, Sachin and Laxman and bring in youngsters like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Pujara if India has to become No.1 team in a couple of years.
What has to be understood is that in the next couple of years, if God forbid the seniors stick around, they will only decline with lessening reflexes and stamina, causing more damage to the team and other teams who are not afraid of grooming and exposing new faces like Duminy, Steyn, Morkel will only gain strength. And rating is done by ICC based on performances over 12 months and not based on one match or one series.

Murali vijay and Pujara are strong contenders for a place in TEST MATCHES in place of Dravid and Laxman in future.
pujara played a gr8 inning on the last day's pitch, against his hero-dravid's team.
even last year, pujara played a gr8 inning saving his team out of certain defeat against delhi when he batted out the whole of last day.
pujara is the real hero and ravindra jadeja the unsung hero of saurashtra team. even last year, they had been to the semis of ranji trophy n winner of the ranji oneday trophy.
not by flukes at all. this shows the spirit of the team. credit goes to not only pujara for guiding his team till the end but also to kotak the old horse, young jadeja n capt jaydev shah.
its high time, pujara comes in the ind team who has hunger for big scores n high temparement for long innings.
All the idiots in this forum and the stupid-selectors should be ashamed of themselves.
Pujara has done it for Sourashtra, as I predicted yesterday itself! He is a true Match-winner! He is still not in the national-team and it is a shame to whole nation.
Ravindra Jadeja is another terrific allrounder knocking the doors of Indian-Team.
Its not a fluke! He had done it against a formidable Karnatakan bowling attack in the fourth innings under pressure and a sportive pitch.

Where are you man? Pujara has scored over 800 runs at an average of 73. Go look at his scores before you talk big on consistency.

Only layman can comment like you did. Poojara is the most prolific run-scorer for the moment. The stupid selectors and idiot-individual-fans like you don't want to see an Indian-Cricketer surpass Bradman.

100 % agreed with u. even last year, pujara played a gr8 inning saving his team out of certain defeat against delhi when he batted out the whole of last day.

After this knock in the fourth innings and leading his team to Ranaji trophy semis he deserves the place in the national test side..I think he came to crease when 3 wicket was lost for just 20 runs i guess..It takes lot of courage and skill to take he team home...he showed that..
He has been very consistent through out the season and most improtanly has scored 300 and 200's at will..
