I think Andre Nel can be better choice than M. Morkel for his aggressive approach and commitment.
N. Mckenzie after his return had some good partnership with Smith, but against weaker team.
H. Gibbs a proven player but replaced for lack of form. His failure from 2006 cost his place in the team.
From the performance of Mckenzie I believe Gibbs a better choice.

I think otherwise this D. Steyn can be easily taken, dont have that much batting talent at No. 10 like M. Johnson of Australia.

Steyn scoring area are long off and long on, but he plays most of the shots in the air.
is in good position to win. Openers are playing beautifully. Mukund is another left-handed opener from TN who has had terrific career so far! 1000 runs in first class at a 60 average.
If Bengal had dragged their second innings a bit more then we couldn't have seen a result and Bengal might well have won the match on the basis of first-innings lead.
Deciding the fate of the match on first-innings lead is utter bullshit (like Galli cricket) and Ranji format needs to be reassessed.

Balaji with just 125 km speed at maximum still got 6 wickets in that match. Does it not because of the poor standard of Bengal Batsmen? Or because of Balajis good bowling?
And the first innings lead point cant be changed suddenly. Majority of the Ranji matches ends up in draw. How can then a winner be choosed? First innings lead point is not new, and all the teams know it and so should try to get the lead. That itself can be considered chasing or defending a total.
Zaheer worked really hard to get to this level, while Ishanth is naturally gifted. Munaf & others will have to tighten up a bit more to form a challenging seam bowling unit for India.
More importantly India should always play at least 3 seamers in any format of cricket and in any ground.
