Lesson to some people
by Unknown Hero on Dec 29, 2008 01:04 PM  | Hide replies

Ah great test match. Apart from other discussion I want to emphasize one point.
Some non sense cricket critics say “Sachin Tendulkar is not a match winner”, he hasn’t won too many matches for India. Most of his century are for loosing cause.

Now look at Ricky Pointing, he scored century and 99, still his team is going to loose. This does not mean Ricky played bad or he is not a match winner now. Cricket is a team sport and can’t be won by individuals; it needs contribution from all around. Pointing (Nothing against Pointing he is one of modern greats) used to score hundreds and Warne and McGrath would swipe off opposition. So Ponting was match winner. Now what happened to that?? Is he still match winner ???
If Lara Scored 70-80 and WI sets 260-270 to win in last innings, they had Ambrose, Walsh to clean opposition below that. So those 70-80 became match winning runs.

So at least this is should be lesson for those cry babies like Sanjay Majrekar, Ian Chapple not to open their mouths and talk shit.

don't eulogise sachin so much.he has only scored 3 centuries in 2nd innings out of 41.Everyone knows scoring in 2nd innings is more difficult with pitch deterioration, tiredness, tension and obviously he has failed whenever he was needed to avoid ignominious defeats
Pointing did score 99 today and he has always scored in all losing matches as a fighter-not filling his record books which sunny and sachin are good at.Sachin has made enough runs and money as well.let him now really play instead of be in the team for the endorsements

India lacks in fielding
by narinderkumar arya on Dec 29, 2008 10:57 AM

I think it will be S.A as no .1. Becaz india still lacks in fielding when compared with best fielding side like aussi/S.A. More over In form players like gambhir/yuvi are yet to prove in test cricket in fast paced pitches in aus/S.a.

SA a rite Challenge for Dhoni
by KOUSAL RAM on Dec 29, 2008 12:50 AM  | Hide replies

Its an end of Aussie Era. After Steve Waugh, Mcgrath, Warne ruled the world for quite sometime the Aussie started cracking. With few like Ponting, Hayden, Hussey there now it looks like Aussie soon going to lose their no 1 Spot. Now the Competetion between G.Smith and Dhoni.. Who will win?? Both were equally powered. Well me still hope for India. My predictions for the Team Ratings in future.

1. India
2. South Africa
3. Australia
4. New Zealand
5. England
6. Sri Lanka
7. Pakistan
8. West Indies
9. Bangladesh
10.Zimbabwe

England will win Ashes 2009 and thus push Oz to no.4. India need to win consistently abroad to be no.1.SA have won in England and they are going to beat Oz for sure

New Zealand at number 4 is laughable. They couldnt even beat West Indies at home, and are now even below the Windies in the ICC ratings.

The biggest problem with Ponting is that he has not come to terms with the weaknesses in his team..His strategies are suitable for a team with McGrath,Warne,an in form Hayden none of which is there in the Aussie side right now..
