Gambhir is the best batsman for the year 2008
by Mahesh Awatramani on Dec 27, 2008 10:59 PM

I feel he is the best batsman for the year - 2008. He has not only proved his worth in test cricket but also in the one dayers and in T20 too....
I think he is the batsman for future!!!!

I agree with all this. Gambhir is definitely one of the best openers in the recent years, but one should not forget, that India has had a strong batting line up for ages.
what is really happening now is a strong opening bowling attack, and a good captain.

And at least any two batsmen who prevent a sudden collapse as in the past.

Gouti is a player who don't speak too much off the field. Even after he scored a blistering half century in 20/20 final which helped India to win it most of the fans and even the media was reluctant to call him a superstar or give him the praise he deserved. Now he forced everyone to admire him. For the next 6-7 years India need not worry about the opening pair unless Sehwag becomes out of form.

Are you really challenging India or are you getting nervous that India is getting closer?
