Raghavan
Aussies Team
by Raghavan on Dec 25, 2008 01:02 PM

When there are good players and talented ones, the captain has it easy. The same was with Aussies all these years. When McGrath, Warne, Gilly all retired together practically, Ponting is left high and dry. He now does not know what to do. Added is the problem of lack of form of Lee and Hayden.
When once again the team settles down with good talents, they will again get back to the top.

Re: i hate india like nothing basically, more than 80 percent of i
by Ideal on Dec 26, 2008 04:38 AM
Funny you know!. The same comment u posted in another column about 15 days ago with exact same wordings. How come u came back to post more, when u clearly mention u dont want to come back that too 15 days apart. U must be reading every single comment written against u. U r an obsessive blogger on this item. U r a delhitie, if i recall ur earlier comment.

There are lots of problem like u say. Nobody is sweeping them under the carpet. But, the key thing is, every civilization (I mean free civilization) goes through transition. If u recall pre britishers (including mughal period), we were a wealthy country. Considered one of the richest. We have plenty of minerals, agriculture. WE dont have good infrastructure. Thats our bane. It will change. U will come back to India just like u have come back to blog more. U really are an indian at heart. U just seem to hate the situation not the country. Dont confuse yourself.

Ours is a beautiful country. Why am i writing all this to u. No reason.. except that if i can help u see what u really mean than what u say. Take care.

One small advice.. i dont want to see u blogging the above stuff again. Thats the least respect u could give to my country that u r willing to give ur adopted country. Ur parents and forefathers must have sacrificed for u to be a free man to live a decent life in a far away land. Respect them if not anything.

Jaihind

Australia is going through transition
by Wihang Bendre on Dec 24, 2008 06:24 PM  | Hide replies

What a lame excuse by punter. A while back he was harping on the fantastic talent about to break in the aussie squad and now he's talking about transition. Typical of an aussie cricketeer to come up with excuses like this.

Why can't he just say bravely that the other teams (India / South Africa) are better than them?? Both these teams have a very good balance (south africa is a bit poor on bowling variety with sheer pace being depended on, spin department is at best poor). I guess even south africa is gonna face tough time in the near future with a couple of old timers nearing the end of their career. In India's case, dravid / vvs were not missed much (their absence or lack of high scores). The only thing that's worrying is, perhaps, the dependency on SRT. If Rohit Sharma is given enough chances along with Cheteshwar Pujara, I believe India can plan for the retirement of all these 3 greats (including Sachin).

Bowling is looking great, especially the pace department with a lot of bench strength. Spin also is in very good hands, especially the leggie variety.

Perhaps the most secure of all teams in the world of cricket today is India.

Well its his job to stand up for his team mates. So what if he makes excuses for his failures, which losing captain does not? It is interesting now that everyone things Yuvraj Singh is a proven cricket. Sorry folks he hasnt still yet scored runs outside the subcontinent. Not that i say he wont, but this transition phase is around the corner for india too...
