Re: Re: Highest runs Scored on a Single Ball ?

Also Phillo Wallace (West Indies) 7 runs of the very first ball (no-ball) of the innings. The bowler was Javagal Srinath.
Its called a 'Test', because it tests the patience for 5 days of the rest of the home! Since neither radio nor TV channels may be changed , while the menfolk are at home! The monotonous drone of the commentators is quite stressful to the rest who aren't cricket fans. How come Hockey, football & athletics have such shows? At least they end in a couple of hours! The pain of 5 days of this really 'TESTS' us!
for the 2nd qs asked by pritam, the answer is incorrect. If the ball hits the boundary the result is a boundary(4),doesnt matters the batsman runs 3 or 5 runs. wht do u think guys.
Re: Anybody pls confirm this
by deepak desai on Jan 09, 2009 12:21 PM
but the question was that they run before the ball hits the boundry, so if the fielder throws before it hits the boundry and they have run 5 runs.
Re: Re: Anybody pls confirm this
by ranjan kumar on Jan 15, 2009 01:49 PM
deepak u got it wrong.pritam is asking that if the batsman runs 5 and after that if the ball hits the boundary rope what will be the result. So in this case the answer will be a boundary(4),so the answer given by the expert is incorrect.

by Solid Man on Mar 09, 2009 11:23 AM
it will be 5 runs not 4 runs, the expert is correct..the batsmen will get as many runs as he ran

For this batsman should be witha machine in his leg or the fielders shold be not out there in the field and if there then they dont want to walk towards the ball.

Two different time frame needed for such thing to happen. If the ball rolls in slow motion and batsmen run in fast forward mode.

This is only possible when our Rajnikant(h) is running between the wickets. he can even take 7, 8 or 9.

Rajni will sxcore even 12 runs before the ball goes in the air and lands near the ocean! lol
If a team wants to win one run in one ball and last wicket partnership is going on, if one of the batsman got run out in no ball , wheather the result will be tie or win
Re: some body answer
by Nitin Hegde on Dec 23, 2008 12:23 PM
AS team want one run, First the ball was delevered and gets no ball and they get the one run So they had win the match. Runout is secondary considered.
Re: some body answer
by andy solanki on Jan 05, 2009 06:09 PM
The team batting will win.As they have the one run required for winning through no ball.as simple as that.
Re: some body answer
by Mohan on Dec 23, 2008 10:16 AM
Its a tie. The batsman got out and nobody is left to face the last ball. A batsman get run out only on a no ball.
Re: some body answer
by Praveen Belewatigi on Dec 23, 2008 10:50 AM
no ball is counted only for the wickets gained by bowler ie, bowled, caught, stumped, lbw ok, run out is not considered for no-ball. out comes first so the match is tie.
Re: Re: some body answer

sorry, no ball is counted only for the wickets gained by bowler ie, bowled, caught, stumped, lbw ok, no ball is not considered for run out. out comes first so the match is tie.
Re: Re: Re: some body answer
by Prashanth HL on Dec 24, 2008 09:41 AM
That's not correct. No-ball is the incident that occured first. So, the run is credited first. And, then, even if they score a run (unless it is 4 or a 6), it is not counted. So, the runout will also not be counted - because the match is already over as soon as the noball is bowled.
Re: some body answer
by amod mishra on Dec 26, 2008 02:24 PM
no ball hppened first and then run out so run out will not be considered and batting team will be declared winner.
Re: Re: some body answer

well..in the first case..why he had to run since the team has already reached the winning score by tat no ball
Re: Re: Re: some body answer

May be the non striker took a running start as the ball was delivered. Seen that happen many times.
Re: some body answer
by sushil es on Dec 23, 2008 11:03 AM
The batting team will win, becos they reached the score needed to win whether losing 10 wickets or doesnt matter. It is like needing 1 run to win and batsmen getting run out while going to complete the second run. The batting team win by virtue of scoring one run through no ball.
Re: Re: Re: some body answer
by Guest on Jan 09, 2009 03:11 AM
It will be a TIE. As soon as the no ball is declared the match is not completed. The wicketkeeper has to secure the ball for that ball to be completed. In this case between bowling and wicketkeeper securing the ball run out happened. so batting side would not get the run. And its a TIE

Guest "As soon as no ball is declared the match is not completed" YES but the team gets a run. Now what happened to your incompleted match ? Think ! ITS A WIN
A batsman gets retired hurt in the fourth innings of a match, does not get back to bat and his side loses the ninth wicket on the last ball of the match, having made 200 while chasing a target of 300. Has the batting side lost the match or drawn it?
Rajneesh Gupta: In the above scenario the match will end in a draw.

It is correct as it was last ball of the match. If there are more deliveries to come and batsman can not bat then it will be a win for bowling side...

If so losing team will have ustilise this option to save the test
Re: Re: Re: PLS CHECK WHETHER IT WAS CORRECT???

how, losing team has to force winning team to get run out by bowling no-ball,
Re: Re: PLS CHECK WHETHER IT WAS CORRECT???
by Rahul Balan on Dec 23, 2008 10:41 AM
it will be a draw since there is a time limit for each batsman to reach the crease...since thats the last ball of the test match, the match ends there!!!..retired hurt batsman can come back at anytime
Re: Re: Re: PLS CHECK WHETHER IT WAS CORRECT???
by amol on Feb 20, 2009 11:45 AM
I would like to know whether the retired hurt batsman can resume his game after lose of nineth wicket.
